It just made sense, and my actual need from it is around 5,500mAh daily. In that case the battery should be 6000 mAh for avoiding deep discharges which is bad for the battery. I have 3 powerbanks and they all stay home most of the tiime. I only use them to charge up my Note 8.0 (tablet) becuase it can auto-off after a full charge.

As for the Note.5 - having to stuck a pendrive out of the port is and providing only 32GB in most markets was one big F***up by Samsung.

We have an agreement - a bigger battery is indeed more beneficial. They'll probably follow the new L-shaped battery implementation of Apple to increase battery next year.

If I had your needs, I would surelly be asking for a bigger battery too.

I like to travel long distances driving sometimes. And I connect my cellphone to the car's bluetooth. On the note 5, the lack of a card slot limited my songs and I hated that.

I had to plug a pendrive with them to the phone. But ok, found my way around it. I never carried a power bank, but, in your shoes, I think I would carry one, if the battery isn't up to the task.

I IMAGINE, I would like that better than keep changing the batteries. It seems more streamlined to me. But of course, a longer lasting battery would be even better.

I had a three-day work sure trip out of town, was about from the hotel room all the day times. Have no need to plug in for all the photo and note taking documentation. Thanks to my extended battery.

I'm still waiting for companies to boasts REAL all-day productivity without needing to charge in the middle of the day, and runs through the night. That can be achieved by ramping up the battery, not less than the S series.

S series for the thin glass finish you wanted with small battery for guys like you, bigger battery at least 5000 mAh for the Note series that can go as thick as 11mm.

Anonymous, 04 Aug 2017It's actually common sense mostly not cared about by people... moreTry not be upset when someone don't agree with you.

          Its called maturity.

I had all the note devices (besides the 7), and never ever bought a spare battery. I did missed though the micro sd slot on the note 5, a phone I still have alongside with my S8+. So the fact that I don't need a spare battery don't reflect in the slightest the knowlodge I might have or not about batteries. You know nothing about what I know or not. The facts don't even connect. The only thing you can say is about your own needs, not mine.

Try logic. Or maybe try geting older.

I change cellphones every year, selling my old one for the price I buy the new one subsized by the carrier. Never had a battery degradation problem. I have a wireless charger besides my computer, I'm a haeavy user and have no battery problems with my Note 5 and my S8+. I had all the note devices (besides the Note7 that was never sold here in Brazil) and never ever had an extra battery.
No one needs to agree with me and vice versa. But I prefer a sealed battery.

You might prefer whatever you like =)

Does iOS have a monitoring app like you can to check the battery cycles efficiency like in Windows powercfg/battery report? My Surface 2 has a 92% battery efficiency still with stone 290+ charging cycles.

Unless you are a light user, and you don't under or over charge, then your battery should perform longer. It's stated that life expectancy for batteries is around 300 to 500 cycles. Samsung isn't worst in battery per say. I know for a fact that iPhone batteries aren't that better either. iPhone7 users are already complaining about shorter battery life.

Most buyers don't know and don't care the fact that batteries eventually expire. I have gone through over 6 batteries on one device over the last 4 years, and all don't work at peek after the 18th month.

Now on my 2nd Zerolemon 10,000 mAh battery that has dropped 25% performance after more than 30 charging. I monitor and keep an Excel chart. Still can give me more than 15 hours SOT, but not 20 hours anymore.

My iPhone 6 have 305 cycles and its still at 91%. Hard to imagine that Samsung's batteries are worst at that.

Samsung should stop creating Note Series based on S Series, especially the design and processor. I know the price will be much much expensive than S8 & S8+. So, is it worth the money to pay more just because of the S Pen? people can root the S8/S8+ to have same features as the Note Series and get the Universal Stylus for smartphone which u can easily get it at any accessories shop. ;)

At least 3500 at minimum, but easily more and possible up to 4000mah.

That's a decent bit of longevity to give up in daily usage and down the road. Especially for the size of it, the cost of it, all the tech in it, the name of the note especially for this being the comeback, and their battery tech.
They are purposefully hindering battery performance and getting away with it because people like you say they don't care...or its not that bad.

And it can stay sealed or non sealed and have all of the above norms. Water protection, larger capacity battery, nice design, not be hugely thick..Yada Yada
