[deleted post]if bloatware means useful software not found on stock android then I agree with you: Sony is better than stock android because it ads value by giving extra features

[deleted post]if you don't know something about android specially stock android much better for you to leave this site before getting bullied. I used stock android from Motorola and that's the only thing that I don't like heavy skinned android like sony or Samsung or LG.

The so called pure android is half baked android, and has to be modified to be usable.
Till now only Sony and Blackberry have been able to do that properly.
Ppl buy garbage from samsung with its rubbish UI and then paint all UIs with the same brush

My Moto X Pure Edition last security update was December 2016!!! What a effing joke! 1 year later still no Nougat! All this with 99.9% stock Android... Stock Android means effing NOTHING! if the OEMs like crappy Lenovo won't support updates and security... I hate Moto/Lenovo I'm moving to Pixel lineup (or whatever google calls it going to forward). It's the only way to stay updated...

Over stretched focus on limited manpower resources and conflicting directions, stock Android is the key to cut through that cruft and Lenovo probably just prepping it smart before Project Treble kicks off.

AnonD-428442, 05 Aug 2017"With a stock Android, the phones will be easier to update"... moreNope. Redmi 3S Prime/hm3s/land user here since Redmi 3/ido. You need to clearly differentiate between what's a UI, OS and security updates. Distinction is quite clear. MIUI although continuously ipdated, are mostly cosmetic and feature overkill. So much so that there isn't a real coherent "bleeding edge" direction for the global dev builds' release channel whoch is supposed to receive security updates earlier than the stable channel bjt are actually inconsistent at this.

And MIUI ver chgs means absolute horsesh.it if they're unwilling to upgrade the Android base.

"With a stock Android, the phones will be easier to update"
Translation form Lenovo: We want to cut cost, so we just dump in stock Android. Updates? What updates?

OEMs are still too lazy to be bothered. Heck, ask Motorola/Lenovo themselves. How often they update the budget Moto E/G lineup? Those are pretty much stock Android, but even security updates are few and far in between.

Now look at Xiaomi. Even though they skin Android top to bottom, they still manage to update even their old Mi phones to get some security updates.

Xiaomi has very good RAM, battery and storage management.

However, the two very crucial things they need to improve as soon as possible, are the thermals (the performance drop is real after an hour of gaming and is worse on a hot day) and the camera software ( they use fantastic sensors, but never optimize them. It always feels a bit sluggish and the mid range phones lack important stuff like a proper manual mode and EIS).

Their hardware is very capable and most of their software is good. But it is only due to these two reasons that Xiaomi doesn't really stand out in-front of Oneplus or Huwaei.

I am a Redmi Note 3 pro user btw.

And if people are... moreMIUI is fine functionality-wise, but it sucks in the performance and RAM management department. I own a Redmi 4A myself and apps constantly get killed in the background, crash more often and MIUI eats up too much RAM, though they did fix the last one a bit with the latest update.
