AnonD-633729, 07 Aug 2017Only stup*d piece of sh*t change battery every 6-8 months. ... moreChanging batteries frequently is more likely with Samsung phones with less than 4000mAh than with Midrange phones having 4000mAh or higher. The brand doesn't matter as 90% of smartphone lithium ion batteries (including Samsung's ill fated Note 7) are made in China.

Many people here think a phone is a responsibility to mankind or something, and need to swoop in to save the day or something.

A phone is a personal choice, PREFERENCE. Why does someone else's choice matter to you anyways? I mean, if you like a phone, buy it. But don't go forcing people to buy what you bought.

Anonymous, 07 Aug 2017It is sommething you paid and you lose... Point is that ... moreLess features than most????
The note has more features that any phone.
The only issue is in the the battery situation. That doesn't take away every other physical and software feature it has.

Low performance????? You must be new to phones?

IPhone has top hardware and the note or others dont????
Samsung basically makes the highest tech in phones.
The iPhone may have a lead in single threaded cpu performance but that doesn't make theirs the absolute best. And it still hasn't even been number one in speed tests for much. And it's graphics are strong but also heavily throttle.
And since when does just the cpu mean everything?????
Ok so it's cpu can be fast but it only have a 760p or whatever display, 2gb ram, and 1800mah battery and it has the best hardware??????

                        And updates???
Doesn't matter that those updates are just a number that barely does anything and is usually just playing catch up to was what androids have already. And those androids are usually playing catch up to the software samsung has already.
Or that it's more so just so they can show off the percentage of how many devices have the latest number on them.
And that it took them at least 5 years of updates and adding more ram and cpu power before they could finally address the massive world wide mobile is lead they had in app crashes.
And the whole idea is that it's so well optimized which is why they short you the ram, storage, and cpu, but in reality the old devices really start to chug. Especially lately..

Point is that Note 8 is a pro phone only in name. It is not filled with features (if anthing t has less than most), low autonomy and due to it low performance (Samsung would be forced to kill backgrounds apps so that to make the most of the tiny battery).

I mean ... it is a great phone for $400 but knowing Samsung they would price it at $900 , which is highway robbery.

Used to be critical of iphones for being too expensive for what they offer, but truth is iphones actually have top notch hadware (for example best processor by far) and 4+ years of support. Samsung has none of that yet same pricing... Samsung has taken the crown of "overpriced cr*p that few actually need"...

Now if we compare this to the Mi Max 2 that just came out:

                              Mi Max 2 6.4": huge 5300 mAh w/ power-efficient SD 625

                              Shamesung Note 8 6.3": tiny 3300 mAh w/ battery-gobbling SD 835

Add to that the outlandish price of the Shamesung, for which you could get three Mi Max 2.
Horrible price/performance ratio on the Shamesung side for horrible battery life.

Yeah, I should have the battery change every 6-8 months for optimum performance. Good idea - I can do all the wireless and fast charging and pay some $50 instead of just $25 for a removable battery. Plug in whenever I should ALL the time - home, office, and in the car. I'll hand over my phones for an hour or two at the service center. Who cares about all that constant stress on the battery that I can have replaced and wear out the adhesives that are suppose to make it water tight, right?

Zerolemon REMOVABLE extended 10,000 mAh batteries cost $60 that DIRECTLY POWERS the device. Now they have to do external battery pack that has some 30% power transfer loss - still the internal battery still degrades, no matter what, and less battery power overall.

Why are we inheriting the problems of iOS device users, people? They practically live for having their iOS devices plugged in all the time as sheep without complain.
