Leaked image shows 3,300mAh Galaxy Note8 batteries

The detailed spec sheet leaked by @evleaks earlier this week also revealed a 3,300mAh battery for the Note8.

I don't like to assume anything, but it seems like Samsung is finally going downhill like it did in the S5 days.
Competitors, on the other hand, are starting to take the competition seriously and bring exemplary devices for price even less than Samsung's.

Huawei became way more powerful in the camera game since the P9, and the P10 just takes it even further. Mate 10 with Dual Summilux f1.8 Leica lens would be insane. Add the exciting HiSilicon Kirin 970 (to be built on 10nm like the SD835 and SD626) and we now have a 2017 Android powerhouse.

Nokia's cooperation with HMD has resulted to a good reputation to them, with the Nokia 6's top notch build quality that even phones that costs twice or more than that are incomparable to it. Idk what will they do with their flagship, but surely it will be highly anticipated, and regain Nokia's old glory days when they used to lead the world of mobiles.

Sony, LG, and HTC are also building upon where they were lacking before, and are now starting to get ahead of Samsung and Apple.
I recently visited a mall in the smartphone department and voila! LG and Sony phones are found everywhere. Still not as much as Samsung's, but it's definitely going in that way.
Even in the TV stores, the Sony Bravia A1E OLED is the displayed product of the store and not Samsung's QLED TV.

This is the very reason why I use extended batteries of 10,000 mAh. It's not for everyone. It's thick at 20mm or 5/8" like a structural glass.

        My experience with the Note7 at the BEGINNING give me a total of less than 6 hours SOT, compared to 8 hours SOT if I was to use just wifi. No, I don't play games, but my usage was mainly YouTube, music via Bluetooth earphones and surfing. My average was 9 hours at which was hitting 30% mark for me to charge during the day. This was my first 25 charging cycles:

        The average at the end of my 45-day usage of the Note7 was that I'd get just above 12 hours of I were to do a deep drain of the battery (which no one should be doing). And this was with a 3500 mAh internal memory. I was hoping that Zerolemon was to have a battery case instead of my carrying a bulkier powerbank.

        Bottomline is, a millimeter or two of thickness will increase battery capacity - the more, the better when combined with optimised chipsets. They did it with the S8 Active with 4000 mAh at almost 10mm, they can do it to the Note.

        I can summize more people get the S8+ is with the bigger battery, but is defeated with the bigger screen.

        If there were two variants of the Note8 with the same screen and specs, except one was with the regular 3300 mAh, and another with 4000 mAh battery with a thicker profile, I'm betting 80% of buyers will go for the thicker one.

        I don't know why Samsung isn't doing a Note8 Active.

          I think everyone is forgetting that the Galaxy S8's battery would preserve about 95% of its original battery capacity in a year worth of usage (as compare to only 70-80% on other smartphone). So, it's safe to assume that the Note8 will have the same (or better) battery tech.

          Yes, it would have been better if the Note8 to have 4000 mAh, but in the long term, the Note8 will have a far better bettery life than any other smartphone.

            And the hilarious thing? Those companies but HTC are actually starting to put larger batteries today.

            G6 has 3300mAh, 500mAh up from the G5.
            XZ Premium has 3230mAh, 530mAh up from the X Performance and 230mAh up from the XZ.
            U 11 has 3000mAh, same as on the 10, but has better battery optimization that gives it a monstrous endurance rating that's nearly comparable to the S8 twins.

            And the rumored V30 is going to have P-OLED screen, and as we all know, OLED is more efficient than IPS LCD, and given LG's advantage over Samsung in terms of battery optimization, the V30 would kill the Note 8 in Endurance, mark my words.

              At 6 hours screen on time, current phones are 66% below capacity. On particuoarly heavy days there is almost no phone that one does not have to charge twice. The situation is pitiful there, more pitiful then ever.

              In fact things are so bad that Samsung had to make this gen of hers slower than the last because she had to cut backrounding. S8 holds less in memory than S7 resulting in a quite slower experience. All in the name of achieving the minimal battery life.

              Things are still bad , very bad. After 2 years phones fall below the 5h mark (screen on time) and they become nightmarish to use...

                    In 2014 they had 3200 *removable*.

                    Now a bigger screen, more ram (ie more backround apps), more screen estate (ie more things happening at once) and we are getting 3300 sealed?

                    Oh Golly, Samsung gone and put themselves in such a strange path. I mean this phone is in autonomy and ease of use (i.e. the most important parts of phones) ages back when compared to a phone from 2014 (which btw also performs better due to the community support and continuous patches it gets).

                    Buying a Note phone in 2017 is all downsides. They should either return this series to ultra high end (and not just in price) or consider cancelling it (it almost happened last year, hoping this year will instead, better to have the pen on the plus model)

                          Sorry to tell you guys. Ever since Note7 incident, Samsung officially stop the smartphone world battery race. Battery size is no longer important. Safety is emphasized more instead. Beside that, for many years battery technology doesnt seem to develop at all. Until the day someone invent something better than our pathetic battery, this debate will never ends.

                            Iife than the S8. The problem here is that the Note8 has a 6.3' SAMOLED Display, which is .1' larger than the S8+, yet has a 3300 mAh battery, 200 mAhs lower than the S8+. It also has that S-Pen, which also takes some battery.

The note 2, 4 and 5. All for more than 2 years each. Right now, I have an LTE connection and I use a fair amount of it on youtube and gaming at a stretch with my friends. And now, my note 5 is struggling to make it through half a day! The same fate both older phones ffollowed. And this note 8 with a very minor bump in battery size but a larger display than the s8, i am sure no software optimisation will help it last more than three quarters through the day with normal use. The s8+ lasts for just a day. That's 3500Mah. So please understand that smaller battery plus 4g LTE use means mediocre battery endurance. Mr. Anonymous is saying plain facts. Nothing to contradict.

Even though it is optimised. DO NOT waste space just for saving money. And charging the battery full everyday of course it will die sooner. If you like this, go for it. I personally prefer A series because what's the point having very powerful hardware when you have to conserve the battery? (Not to mention the price tag)

                                      The S8 has 3000 mah battery and it's battery life is pretty damn good (You can see for yourself on youtube)

                                      It has been put with phones like the Mate 9 with 4000 mah and the S8 was still the better phone.

                                      Having larger capacities doesn't necessarily mean better battery life

                                        A website of my country performs battery test based on using many apps. Then they repeat as cycles. Every cycle you use same apps. Then 30 min of standby.

                                        Apps like Chrome, FB, Whatsapp, Asphalt 8, Youtube, Gmail, Modern Combat, Instagram, Twitter.
                                        I do not remember how long they use each app every cycle.

                                        Some phones use between 170-220 mAh per cycle. Others use about 300 mAh per cycle.

                                        Phones of Sony, Samsung, LG and Motorola use less power per cycle than Asus, Xiaomi or those cheap chinese brands.

                                        Zuk Z2 was even worst than phones with same s820 and smaller batteries. Barely reached 6h SoT with 3600mAh
                                        XA1 had 7h SoT with 2300mAh.

                                        With same battery size, famous brands can do much better.
