IMHO, it's all about the sensor. Even if a phone have a 16 yottapixel camera and with shitty sensor like found with toy cameras, it will still be shitty..

HTC have never made good cameraphones so I doubt this will be an exception. Add the LED flash to this...

I have DSLR for photography. Phone camera is still a children's PLAY and VERY VERY limited NO MATTER MPIX count!!!!!!!

guys... the megapixel war is over :) Nokia+Carl Zeiss owns this sector :) sry to dissapoint you but even 50mpix matrix can make crappy photos with inapropriate lenses... i'ts all about light sensitivity and compression that makes the difference :)

8 mpx cameras from them stink completely they are just upscaled from their recommended limit just like old cameraphones from few years ago which could take 1 MPx pictures but their camera was made for 0.1-0.3 MPx

I suspect those pre orders includes those ordered by the carriers as well and Samsung calls them pre orders. Samsung is the dirtiest player in the market. They have advanced hardware packed in a cheap plastic chassis and have horrible support and updates that comes out several months too late. Samsung is a joke.

HTC has the WORST cameras in their phones. 16 mega pixel pff thats just a gimmick plus its just a bit ridiculous to have that good of a camera in a phone

please note that the megapixel count is the only one part of a good picture , you have to consider also basically the lens and the camera sensor and the software assciated with the hardware

No body will beat the nokia cz cameras, go back to n95. The 5mp cam was the best for 3 years after the phone launched, the n8 will rule for another year or years to come, with n9 in second. Also rumours say the w8 nokia windows phone in q2 2012 will have either a 14 or 16mp cam with xeon on it!

with the pre-orders / sales of GS2 in their millions already and the iphone 5 just around the corner...
I suspect the N9 is going to find itself very lost, especially with a dying OS (I assume Meego can't / won't last) it'll be WM7 all the way for Nokia and I think that's a really good thing...
One thing Nokia do well is phone design (I remember my N93i - I LOVED that phone, slow as molasses and buggy as hell, but it sure looked cool...)

I think they need to ditch Meego and start doing Android / WM7... then they're back in the competition..
An Android phone with Nokia design? Count me in!
