HTC reports declining revenue in July

In June, it seemed that the company bounced back, but that didn't last.

They've always released a bunch of devices at the same time, which did the same thing and had similar specs. On top of that, the naming convention was nothing to brag about either. By the time HTC One name became fairly recognized in the tech circles, HTC did a 180 degree turnaround and renamed it to HTC U line.
On top of all this, they've stumbled on the same rake 3 times. First with HTC One M7, where they had their horrible 4mp 'ultrapixel' camera, which was nothing but a very small sensor(1/3") with a low resolution to compensate for sensor size. And just as they received bad reviews across the board with that camera module, they went ahead and stuck it in M8. It would not have been as bad, if they haven't had all those issues with the camera, where even in-warranty repaired devices exhibited heavy pink noise in anything darker than daylight.
Then, after another round of bad reviews, they went to an opposite extreme, and decided to do a Sony style solution - stuck a 20mp 1/2.4" sensor, behind a not-so-bright f/2.2 lens.
And now, after receiving great reviews on the construction of HTC 10, they went ahead and scrapped the much acclaimed metal clamshell design.
So HTCs problems are of their own doing, and no-one else.

        Somebody here is surprised? Their marketing is awful, and some choices are really questionable, like the Point of releasing the HTC U Ultra, or a midranger with 4GB of RAM and a SD400.

            First Nokia then Blackberry and now hTC. All champions are now out of their own game. Nobody can even think to be in top 5. No innovation, higher price than competitors, limited availability and the same Mtk 6737 processor. These are some reason s of fall.

HTC s... moreA lot of folks seems to think the reason HTC is failing is because they are not shipping some so of magical design hardware. And that if they ever did, then all their problems would go away. That is so far from the truth. The main reason why HTC is failing is there are an old dog, with an old selling model and infrastructure trying to compete in this new world where the Chinese oem's have taken over the low and mid-tier market.

              It does not matter what magical smartphone device HTC can ship, it's not going to do much to save them. In this new world, if you do not have the brand cache of Apple or Samsung then you compete on price. The Chinese oem's can't be beat there, just about everyone is affected by this, even Samsung. The only one not yet affected by this is Apple. iOS, probably have a lot to do with it, but even then I am not sure how long they can escape it. So no, there is nothing HTC can do to stop their slides at this point.

                I'm sure the lack of the 3.5 mm headphone jack in the HTC U11 and the U Ultra must have put off many buyers. It's a pity since the U11 does have an awesome camera.

                Also bad decisions, such as putting Snapdragon 400 in a late 2016 mid-ranger, the HTC 10 Lifestyle http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_desire_10_lifestyle-8276.php or putting the Snapdragon 810 in a late 2016 $600 flagship, the HTC 10 evo http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_10_evo-8404.php must have definitely hurt their sales. Plus the above 2016 phones have very poor front camera apertures of f/2.8 and f/2.4 respectively.

                After all, the consumers are smart and know there are better, well-rounded options elsewhere.

                  Im seeing a lot of negatives symbol on those numbers. HTC still dont understand why they are failing. Hmm. They really need those 'insights'. Somebody please help the idiots working at HTC. When will they realized what people wants from them.
