Actually singlecore of note 8 better than S8 plus 6 gig of ram. But can't beat even IPhone 6s leave a lone iPhone 7 plus and upcoming iPhone 8 in single core.

Correction- It's not the first Samsung phone to have 6GB RAM. Galaxy S8+ has it already.

People are always spewing nonsense about "optimizations". In the end small batteries ALWAYS prove to be insufficient and lasting 3-5 hours of on screen time. And that's not even half a day. And that's with a new battery. Give it a year and it will last even less.

The less the battery means more times you need to charge. The more you charge, the more charging cycles spent to the battery's capacity of the battery's capacity to hold power or energy. The poor battery performance will be apparent 12 to 18 months later - just in time for the latest phone model is there for your buying. Yes, that's 300 to 500 cycles later, as what research literature has been stating.
It's hard to detect this since your phone's battery indicator says "100%" every time you "fully charge". The fact is, you loose power capacity every time you charge and discharge. Even more when you deep discharge (under 20%) and do fast and wireless charging. Really silly, and Samsung is making money out of these very slow "fast" "wireless" charging than actual normal charging.
It's also very ironic that you need to keep plugging in during your day use - carrying powerpacks (another thing to charge) and chargers every where you can.

u don't have to complain about the battery capacity. Samsung know what they're doing. powerful chipset; 10nm octa-core Exynos / SnapDragon + superAMOLED display will help the battery can stand much longer (even longer than C9 Pro 4000mAh).

And just because people find ways to try and cope doesn't mean the issue is a non issue. It in fact proves that it is an issue.

And when driving, connect to the cigarette lighter power socket. It's not an issue. If it was, no one would buy iPhones that have terrible battery life and no fast charging. I am rocking a Note5 that needs topping up, and put up with it because it's so powerful and reliable.

At least there's 6 GB RAM in there - would help high resolution drawings. Yes, it's bothersome that it's pretty much like the S8+ with just added RAM and S Pen. Samsung lost vision what the Galaxy Note series is - a reliable tool.
I'm a fan for Samsung integrating a Wacom digitizer pen since 2011 on the first Galaxy Note, and I gladly have used it it for jotting notes and sketching. Plus it had a bigger battery capacity from the S series. Now the S has the bigger battery.
I'm not sure how 3300 mAh battery would last with a slightly bigger screen. Having a sealed battery and limiting that battery's capacity to less because people want thin 7mm phones is absurd.
Samsung, you already have the S series for 7mm thin and glass back. A 10mm thick Galaxy Note will not be a bad thing since it could house at least 4000 mAh to 5000 mAh. I don't care about the silliness of a glass back. You can find other non-conductive material for the gimmicky wireless charging.

I miss those days when S Series and Note Series have different chipset. The Note series has a slightly higher chipset clockspeed than S Series. Now they are just lazy to up the clock speed of SD835 or Exynos 8895. Same chipset Higher price. Modus operandi of marketing nowadays eventhough they can make sd 836 already. Like samsung s7 last year sd 820 and note 7 sd 820 same chipset eventhough there is already sd821 coming. Shame. Karma on note 7 for not upgrading chipset. 3rd time in a row with same chipset as the S Series from S6 and Note 5 to this s8 to Note 8. -.-

It's so sad to know that the phone all the world is waiting for would have a battery capacity of an impotent 3300 mah. How will it cope with the massive and power hungry screen? And this misplaced, good for nothing fingerprint sensor with the increased phone size will make using it a mission impossible! I'm really disappointed with Samsung especially after waiting for such a long time and after the note 7 failure. I have a note 5 and i still have a note 7 but I doubt if I will buy the note 8 with these flaws!

Leaked Geekbench score from the LG V30 is higher for the multicore and a bit lower for single core compared to the Note8. However I think, both phones are overall even fast.
But I'm still going for the V30 :)
