If Linux would be available at the start of Windows (like it is now in the "mobile boom"), guess who would win that war?
Free & open Linux of course! :D
That is a fact, because everyone can contribute to Open Source and never ever underestimate the power of the "Hordes of Developers"!
Because us, developers make your shinny gadgets functional! :D

I'm not really a WP7 hater, but I don't wish MS well in the mobile segment.
I hear WP7 is great, but I wish they would only reach 15% mobile market share.
They have their dominance in the desktop OS world (85%), I don't want them to rule the mobile OS too, let others rule it.

Im switching t... moreI moved from apple to android, and from android to WM7. Definately not as many applications but much better feel to the phone. Very fluid. Couldnt be happier!
Especially with the xBox link!
WM7 Definatly the best handset I've owned to date and I work for a phone company so before anyone else comments saying I dont know what Im talking about... I DO!

When it comes to OS comparisons, I think it bears reminding people that the clunkiness of Nokia's handsets is almost entirely down to their inexplicable choice in underpowered hardware. What fans of S60 and S^3 (like myself) value in their Nokias is the functionality and those of us who are rational tolerate the failings of the UI and hardware due to the strengths of the underlying software.
The Mango update can't come soon enough. With Mango, WP7 looks like it'll overtake Android and S^3 for my personal needs. By the time I'm due for a phone upgrade, hopefully Nokias WP7 devices will be out and, with luck, Nokia will actually pack in a decent CPU/GPU combo. If not, HTC or Samsung with WP7 will likely be my next handset.

AnonD-733, 25 May 2011We understand your point but iOS and Android are new when t... more WP7 was build from scratch. WM 6.5 was based on WinCE and the version 6.1 . So I guess It was supposed to be like that from the start. We need to be happy that at list they are trying to catch up. Look at Symbian for exemple. It's first 'open' Symbian OS phone, the Nokia 9210 Communicator, was released in June 2001. To myself it's the most ugly and lagging mobile OS that I have ever tried.
I use a WP7 on my HTC HD7 and I am happy with it. I have had so many problems with a my ex Samsung Galaxy S that sometimes I wanted to throw it to the wall. It was so sluggish that sometimes I couldn't even make a simple phone call w/o rebooting over and over.

It matters now that WP coming out much later and still lack some important features. WP had plenty of time to study what other OS are missing and cover those areas. Users don't care when the OS is released but they will be unforgiving if certain features are missing. In the tech world, consumers don't wait around for devices to take their time. It's a head on competition as soon as they enter.
WP gets credit for being stable and fluid. It has much potential, but right now they have much catching up to do.

Ref: Comments about UI
I think Android's UI feels and behaves like a cheap imitation of iOS, nothing genuine really, and that is coming from an Samsung Galaxy S user. I think from all the current UI's available Metro UI of WP is much more progressive and creative, if only MS completes the OS at earliest; I'll happily ditch this SGS for a comparable WP device.

6.5 already has BT complete functionality
6.5 already has flash support for the brower
6.5 already has Video Call Camera
6.5 already has Radio
6.5 already has Copy/Paste
6.5 already has Multitasking
6.5 already has File Manager
6.5 already has free choices to set the Ringtones, SMS and alert
Windows has all these features with 6.5 why start with 7 with none of them, don’t get me wrong I like WP7 and I would love to own one but the problem is they don’t support Arabic Language

You people are just talking garbage about WP7 . Have you people used it ? I guess not. I have used iOS, Android, Blackberry and now WP7 ( HTC HD7). I can say that WP7 is very smooth, fast and strait forward OS. I haven't seen any laggings or force to closes like on Android.
You people talk about BT file transfer, file manager and flash . Do you people have a short mind ?

So, read and search around before you talk "LOUD " about WP7 , WP7already has a lot features which the others didn't have at the launch.
