Joy-808, 19 Aug 2017same weather condition, try out any other f2.0 phone, no on... moreThe question is why f/2.0?

tonymancs, 18 Aug 2017Don't ever expect something like 808 or 1020- they will nev... morei couldn't own the 808PV in time, i regret that till today.
Look the weather in these pics, 808 is the only phone which can capture crispy clear pics even in those conditions, Nokia 8 did pretty well, but the small sensor size just can't take it all.

MickyFoley, 18 Aug 2017Sorry, but the photos are bad. Really bad. Blurred and wash... moresame weather condition, try out any other f2.0 phone, no one else could produce the amount of detail Nokia 8 managed to put in this dull weather.

Anonymous, 17 Aug 2017wow, sorry but that main camera pics are pretty crappy for ... moreYes, the quality of the pics (or rather, the lack thereof) is quite disappointing.
There's lots of noise, it's often not very sharp and crisp, and the colours are dull.
This definitely isn't even remotely close to flagship niveau, but rather on the niveau of a lower mid-end phone camera.
A very bad idea of Zeiss to give their name for such a poor quality camera, that certainly won't give people a good image of the Zeiss name.

About the weather, it's not just the British weather that's like this. Here on the eastern side of the Channel, it's just the same. Might be that it's just about the same latitude here as London.

Does the new Nokia 8 link up with the Bluetooth systems in most cars like the old Nokia and Microsoft phones? The reason I ask this question is because most android phones like Samsung galaxy and Nexus would not interface well with my brand new BMW while my Nokia and Microsoft phones did. In NYC hands free phones system are the law therefore an important item to be addressed.

Optics are important and Carl Zeiss optics looking promising as always and working good job. Panoramic pictures looking sharp and less noisy with not oversaturated colors (thats are rare now). I thinking they now can work different without bunch mpx to zoom in (but Im didn't deny Pureview zoom in) but this second zoom in lens looking working good job. Need see what they can show with f1.7 f1.6 optics. Zeiss f2.0 optics looking promising with good results in low light you can see even if it is not brightest. Shots are detail and sharp. Returning camera king for now feets warming looks good. That dual shot looks very nice feature.

Fair review but does the phone ring loudly ? All the online reviews never cover this. No point in a phone you can barely hear ringing like the Sony z2. Pitiful ring volume...
Does it ring as loud as an n95 ? Moto g 2nd edition ?

AnonD-425519, 17 Aug 2017My Google Pixel has a 2.0 aperture yet thanks to its softwa... moreYep agreed. Let's wait for more pics (in better conditions maybe?) n see how the processing holds up...

Sorry, but the photos are bad. Really bad. Blurred and washed out. I expected too much. Those are not even average...

Nokia was testing sensors made from graphene which captures 1000 times more light compare to current flagship camera sensors so might be they will come out with next flagship say nokia 9 or may be next year

nomu, 17 Aug 2017I guess the weather during this photoshoot was overcast. As... moreIt's true and Zeiss optics can't be ruled out easily it is better than one plus five any day I will wait for Nokia 9

i think its very good considering the weather. still the phone is a bit overpriced. if a phone is priced above 4000 HKD its not worth buying.

Nokia 8 with average image quality..... so one can easily say nokia is not a nokia anymore

Lol., 17 Aug 2017There goes another Troll wrong!! Display goes to 700 nits. ... moreI'm not trolling saying that 8's display isn't going to be one of it's strong sides... It's a 2K resolution LCD panel after all...

This phone is released in an era where the S8 and G6 has gone nearly bezel less, some Sony's fitting in 4K panels and the upcoming note 8 and even the iPhone 8 going almost edge to edge so I don't believe having 700 nits brightness is enough to compete against them.

People will buy the Nokia 8 but just because of it's display? I hardly think so...

Don't ever expect something like 808 or 1020- they will never comeback (I'am lucky enough to own 808). The quality is just enough to be on pair with other current flagships.

Note exposure time. Something is off with camera auto mode.
