These photos show off Samsung Galaxy Note8's dual camera

The dual cam has two lenses - f/1.7 wide and f/2.4 tele.

I find it really weird how like the majority of the official sample pictures are like specific examples of pictures that shouldn't have been shot at f1.7? Lol. Like look at that picture of the tree in the fog (9/59). What's in focus in that? Almost literally nothing, and what is in focus (a tiny bit of the grass at the front) is super smudged by aggressive denoising.
In image 15/59, if you look closely, all the detail in the distance is just artificial sharpening, because that fixed aperture isn't actually good for getting details that kind of long shot.
Like. That lens is probably great, and a bunch of the official sample images from it are great (17/59 shows great dynamic range - detail in the darks and no blowout in the lights, 18/59 puts that selective focus to good use) but why did they choose so many pictures to show off that are specifically not good because that's the wrong lens for the job? lol

    Fanboys. The samples are nothing like a dslr or even a high end point & shoot. For one, the subjects toward the edges are distorted (like all camera phones). There's only so much you can do when 7 lenses are sandwiched together in a 8mm frame.

        Most impressive is that the Telephoto lens has OIS & Dual Pixel autofocus.

Regarding the sensor size when the lens is not capable enough to grab more light (will be used mostly during daytime) hence, why increase the sensor size and cost

                              The background blur for the second camera looks realistic, much better than Huawei's implementation.

                                Wow camera samples?! Now I know it has the best innovative camera..

                                Only xperia xzp exists.. with super slow motion? so yeah. You get what I mean.

                                        Im impressed by samsungs ability to shove OIS and a brighter aperture onto the "telephoto" lens compared to other manufacturers.

                                        P.S. its not telephoto lens. Its not even a short telephoto. Its considered a "normal" focal length. 75mm+ is telephoto.
