Wouldn't an S8+ be a cheaper and better option? S8+ has bigger battery and only lacks the 2nd cam and a stylus.

As much as i dislike the price for this model £869, i will still buy it...in the UK we get a free DEX station which personally i have no need for so will just sell it...on ebay they are going for £80-£100 so anything in that region will bring the cost of the note down nicely and the sale of my S8+ will bring it down to a much more palatable figure to around £350. I can live with that

Samsung is just fooling us. I think same is going to be happen with Apple also. They will start assembling here but still prices will be higher than the other countries.

Let’s see how much the price different between Note 8 and your favorite device. Yeah, maybe a lot. Cuz your chinese phone needs to be replaced every 3 months.

That's because, with total disregard to US or EU pricing, Samsung priced Galaxy S8+ at Indian Rs. 70,900. This is so hefty, its more than US$1000 directly converted, more than some Core i7 laptops & a few segments above all flagships from competition....
By this statement, Note 8 would be more expensive than probably some gaming laptops.... So, better than this kind of uphill pricing, maybe Samsung won't launch it at all for maybe 6 months or so for their reputation.

Not impressed by complaints about price.
You can't expect to get the latest Ferrari for the price of a [insert whatever car you currently own]!
This mobile is chock full of features and will be up-dateable for a long time. If those complaining had been putting money aside over the past year or so, rather than complaining, they would be in my position of being able to afford the best now, not in 6 months, a year or two years.
I want the best NOW 😉!!

Say what we want, but many people will buy it. If people want to pay 2 grand for a phone, let them. It's their money, they can do whatever they please.
Remember, they are under no obligation to please us. It's not like they're affecting our lives in any discernible way.

At least the expected price of $940 wasnt too far off. Not surprised. Most of their phone launching price always puts people off. Wait a few months suddenly the price tag is only $600-700. All early buyers will be like, "What the hell, Samsung! I just bought it for $1000 a few months ago".
