handicapped OS, 29 Aug 2017sailfish is a handicapped OS i have owned Jolla handset ... moreI have used Jolla as my primary phone since it come and like it a lot.
Especially handy for Linux freaks like me.
Normally not using usb, but sftp or ssh login on wireless, to access the whole phone, provided you open for this (tempoary).
The linux like files tructure and config files makes it quite nice to adjust things myself.
Bluetooth support is lacking on Xperia in first delivery, but expect them to fix it, work fine for me on the old Jolla, if critical wait buying until it is fixed.
I am not very fond of Googles Android OS, or a lot of adds, and like this alternative, which can run the Android apps I need (for work).

            sailfish is a handicapped OS
            i have owned Jolla handset

most of the time even the basic feature will not work
            like bluetooth, wifi, USB etc

and its a two-hand usage phone.
you wont be able to comfortably work using one hand

apps: the amazon app store is the best
and the rest are Yandex and apptoid app stores

but they dont even have 0.01% of what google play store has
a tizen phone is far far better than this sailfish
maybe it would be great if Jolla partners with Tizen to make it better

Jolla is for linux freaks who dislikes everything else on this planet

I really appreciate the effort taken by Jolla team
but i prefer them working for Tizen or Blackberry OS or Amazon Fire OS etc and make them better
The No 3 spot is still empty

It can be the most secure OS but the problem with this OS is that:
              1. It's too buggy to be used.
              2. It is paid.
              3. It is only for enthusiasts as normal people do not usually use a Linux pc, they probably use a Windows or Mac (Although Windows now support "Bash on UBUNTU").
              4. You need to learn some commands for Linux to install it.
              * In short it is for people who own an Sony Xperia X and have a Linux PC at their home with some knowledge of command line for Linux and are willing to pay for it.

Rtx, 28 Aug 2017Sailfish costs that much, because??? Sailfish is a failed ... moreSailfish is a full blown linux based OS.. More like Ubuntu Touch.. Meanwhile your Android is just Java emulation.. Sailfish can run Android, Android will never run Sailfish

Sailfish OS is about privacy and security, which Google android lacks. I wish Sailfish succeed. The reason they picked Sony should be due to the fact that Sony users will take the risk to try this new OS. No android manufacturer encourages the user to experiment with the device as Sony, with there "Open Device Program".
