windows phone promises a better future. till the next 5 years, android will dominate, but will then begin to lose its shine as windows will catch up in processing power and will offer a more user-friendly interface, which will allow people to access the premium features without much knowledge about mobile operating systems

Unfortunately Symbian is going to be tossed by Nokia, was a matter of time, Meego also is not having a easy path. Maybe that OS is don't going to see the daylight anytime soon.
Maybe Anna and maybe other more update will be the last we see from Symbian :(. All our beloved phones will be disscontinued and maybe N8 and some other will be te last Symbian phones as Premium from Nokia.
Symbian didn't update itself to be a real challenge for Apple OS and Android, even BB OS was brightly updated...Damn was not an smart move by Symbian Dev. Team.
Let's see with Microsoft.
Nokia has a bright future, and maybe is going to take back the crown and make innovative gadgets with more sophisticated technology :D My best wishes to Nokia.

Nokia, you said you are going to focuse on windows phone 7. But still you are producing symbian phones. Are you going to buy them yourselves?
Nokia dont know how to raise symbian again. Let me show them.
1. Rewrite symbian to support a resolution up to 1280x720
2. Make sure it have the latest flash version. Remove the signing of application before installing, from it. Make sure the user can optionaly access every file.
3. Put it on high ram and processors.
Now make this phone.
Screen size - 4 or 4.3inches
screen resolution - 1280x720. E6 have 640x480 on that small screen size, so you can do this. If 2.46=640x480 then 4.3=? Pls solve.
Ram - 1gb
cpu - 1.2ghz dual or more
the rest should be the specs on the N8.
........symbian will be no.1 again.......

Android also has their own "ugly path" I remember when Android goes 1.5/1.6 was the most awful OS of all times, ugly, simple, too many bugs to count and so on....Now they have 2.3, but nothing is changed, just some make up here and there.
Symbian has been on line from too much time, the problem was updating that OS...I can't believe why Nokia don't make this OS more updated, however, the transition to WP7 is going to be interesting.
I dont know if coupcacke, gingerbread or the entire pastry will be enough to determine the OS names, but, is going to be interest how is going to react google once microsoft returns to this game...

I love symbian, I can operate with my eyes closed. I tried the samsung wave, it got only 1 update and as expensive as it was, samsung abandoned it. Just wondering when Anna will be available.got my zzz N8 one month na still loving n flossing wid it

my 5mp cam on the n95 8gb was enough for me. i have a freaking dslr to take picz professionally. the only selling point of the n8 is it's camera that's all. the only apple product i own is a 3rd gen ipod touch but, i find it real funny when nokia fans tries to defend themselves saying "hey symbian is user friendly!" yeah you mean it's so simple that an AVERAGE JOE can use it? lol at least apple, rim, & google didn't go begging to microsoft to use their os cause symbian is in the dumpster now xD
im moved on from nokia, they make bricks now, don't make classy phone like n95 anymore. i didn't think upgrading to the n97 or n900 was worth it, that's why i moved on to sony ericsson & htc...i'll be glad to get a new nokia if they launch a good phone again & not a 200g bulk brick!

My Nokia N8 is one of the slowest phones I ever had, so you who say that Symbian does not need 1GHz or more stop it!
It is almost one of the most buggy Nokia phone ever, charging bug, hangs often, breaks calls, strange noises in the speaker during calls, web browser is not usable, multitasking does work for a moment then the phone hangs or slows down.
This is my second N8 so the problem is out there!
I think Nokia rushed out N8 to early, and it should have had 1GHz processor to manage multitasking!?

what do you guys mean by user friendly? lol do you mean that the other OS requires you to have a PhD on them to operate them? lol like seriously, ive been using nokia forever myself but, i don't appreciate when people say android/ios/ rim os is not user friendly just cause you people are stuck in the midi-val times with an outdated os. symbian was good for it's time but i've moved on. if having the freedom with an os like in the android & customizing ability or being restricted but still being able to get lots of perks from the apple store is too much for you to handle then be my guest & stick to symbian. but don't blabber all over the internet saying other os is this & that cause at least they're being innovative, they didn't have to go beg Microsoft for windown 7 OS cause their own os is in no good anymore...

Yes. Symbian is also good, the most user friendy. Though Application wise. i'll go with Android or for iPhone. and we do have all our bets. So just respect it.

the fake phones of nokia which are made in chine and have tv inside that foolish fakes are still a lot better than the original one nokia and anna or annas mother even cant stand beside the blackberry os ever where IOS and ANDROID are above the clouds ,dont waist money on nokia just try to use real phone in ur life

symbian betty will be the first o.s. wich can be installed on any device with already have symbian 3 or symbian anna regardless the model of mobile. so from n8 and c7 up all new nokias will be updated with future version betty like all p.c. and laptops run with the same windows vista or seven regrdless the brand. the replacment of ovi suite wiil bring this important change. wait and see

Every time I read people hating Nokia I'm proud to be an Nokia user, because they are affraid of something. I don't knwo what exactly is but is there.
Many of the discussions are silly and pointless.
Othes are a clear example of people that realize Nokia can grow and emerge again as a serios competitor for other..
I don't get it, looks like are on the payroll of samsung, sony, htc or maybe they are partners on business hehehe :D
