why people asking for nokia phone with symbian running on 1ghz processor? It's process management is so polished it does everything u need with the 680mhz and the extra ram would just stay here unused increasing price tag even more. Plus 1ghz processor would kill your battery just like any other not symbian smartphone currently in the market, which fail to last longer than a day. People fail to realise that lower specs saves battery life. And symbian, in my opinion is for those who actually know what they want from they phone, not some silly overrated menu transitions draining your battery. It does everything what other current smartphones do (not counting apps here), and in some cases, such as offline gps, even more.

                            Damage control!

I think Nokia should have pushed Maemo (now known as Meego) a bit more - it's a nice UI/OS that just needs a bit more polish. (Yeah! I know the N950 is supposedly getting released soon.) Also, they should have hurried the f**k up with modernizing Symbian for touchscreens. However, their former management team seemed to have been sitting on their collective thumbs, while the iOS-Android dreadnought blew them away.

I think the market share of Symbian is gonna be so low that most of the people by then won't even know Symbian or won't even care, there will probably still be Symbian users, however they will live with the glory of the past, I mean the days of Symbian before iOS and Android took their market share. I guess we can already say that Nokia fanboys, are already like that, everything they talk about Symbian is from the past.

Nokia had their chances, but they tried to adapt Symbian in a touch environment, today they pay the price.

The UI is not touch optimized
Qt doesn't support all the API's
                              Screen resolution limitation
2 year old processor, slow and laggy
The slow processor and the bad screen resolution provides a bad web surfing experience
Flash lite, come one, how about flash 10.2

2016. Hmm, that maybe the time when Nokia inventory runs out of old ARM11 processors.
