Nokia starts iDoalotmore campaign in India, seriously?

27 May, 2011
Nokia started a new campaign to promote its latest Symbian gadgets in India called iDoalotmore. It starts just a day after Apple launched the iPhone 4 there and is available on Nokia's official pages and billboards...

[deleted post]We all know Symbian can "do" a lot, but Symbian can NOT do anything good!
The latest Androids can do more than any Symbian, and the Androids do everything good!

    " ...but iDoalotmore from a Symbian smartphone, really?"

    Well, if you throw away the countless apps that do very little on iOS, then, yeah we're talking. At the end of the day, there is nothing Symbian is really lacking on an OS level. It has all of the same functionality as iOS, and more... minus the sleek interface, of course. Still, Symbian is a very powerful mobile platform. If even half of the iPhone developers started making apps for Symbian, the game would be very different indeed. Apple is just hot right now. It's the current Razr. I honestly feel people are going to tire of it eventually and only the lamest-ducks will still be caring an iPhone (when was the last time you even saw a Razr? And everyone had one of those!). Oh well, I won't bash iOS. It's good. Apple's made a great product and more people develop for it... but I still don't count Symbian out. All and all Symbian is still a very powerful OS.

      Well, there's actually a lot more to Nokia than the Good Old Symbian OS.
      * USB on-the-go
      * Video calls (that most Androids today, lack)
      * Good Hardware (again many Androids in that price range, do lack)
      * Much Better Designs (unlike Samsung that copies iPhone's, which never was good enough)
      * Damn Stable OS (well, most would think by now that I'm one of those N8 Fanboys. But you really gotta put to test an N8 or a C7, before arguing here)

      Anyways, all these great features bundled with a Capacitive Touch + Symbian^3 + Nokia branding at almost half the price, should actually be a ruling factor to eat into iPhone sales in India (where people are really conscoius about how much they spend & on what)

                Nokia ruled India. People had blind faith in the brandname. Now the low end fone market is taken over by Micromax and Gfive. The smartfone range is being taken over by the Xperia and Galaxy line ups. at the top most segment, people buy Iphone not because of what it can do (and many things it can't do) but because the brand apple is tempting just like the good ol days of Nokia.
                Right now, Sony Arc/Neo is the best smartfone for the people if we consider budget and looks. A fone of Galaxy S2's pricetag wont sell much here.

                      I think that the guy that wrote this article is an iPhone fanboy, no offence, but how can he say that Symbian smartphones can have only "one or two tricks" against the iPhone?
