Windows phone still needs room for improvement, and you really have to a believer that Microsoft will pull it right this time.
So far WP hasn´t given any real proof. Few apps, and all the software is being developed for Android or Iphone. Two years early had Microsoft launched its OS and it would be whole different story.

Wp7 is an amazing os for the smartphone. I use it all the time now and love it. I used android and apple, both can't hold water to wp7. Just everyone is so bias these days for apple or the droid.
I think Nokia will do very well!

Nokia isn't out for the count yet. Unlike the other companies, where market smartphone marketshare has to be fought for, Nokia, can simply create its own.
Nokia is still a dominant force in the dumbphone market, and all they have to do is convert this crowd into smartphone users, and they will have all the market share they need.
Interesting times ahead.

I just wish Nokia would continue to support the current users that bought Nokia N8 and C7. Seems everytime I check for new games that are currently on Android and Iphone, they are not on Symbian at all which is sad.

Hmmm.. I have liked Nokia for some time, but I am not sure the company will recover. I personally think Symbian is an excellent O/S, but apparently I am the minority (as I use my phone for communication, music and light gaming - in that order). Windows may give them some help, but I fear they will lose their identity as people find W7 less useful and more cumbersome than Symbian. Frankly with the 7000 odd developers they had, I find it hard to believe that Symbian development was so far behind the current leaders - Andriod/IOS/Rim. Oh well.. Best of luck to Nokia, and I hope they can turn it around.

I am a mad nokia lover, but it is sad to say about broken market condition of nokia. Gradually going down condition of nokia often make me anxious and i too start to shout slang to nokia and its runners. In fact colaboration with microsoft is not the perfect solution, but solution is to identify customer's psycology and their choices. Some point that i am going to mention can help nokia to regain market potential.
1. No everyone like to buy touch screen, so Consider making high end conventional keypad phones too.
2. Do not stay stucked with nHD 640x360 resolution for all phones. There are range of resolutions like HVGA, WVGA, VGA, etc. Use them frequently.
3. Stop making fullfocus cameras. If sensor is more than 2MP, make them outofocus. It is nesessary. Design them sufficient zoom capable. If sensor is 8MP or above give it at least 20x video zoom.
3. Keep production rate fast and steady.
4. Stop copying others innovation and strategies. Your own innovation and method of making phones befor 2010 were very appreciable so look your back technology and methods too.
5. It is important to note that fooling customers by offering them inferior products at high cost (like c7, c6-01, e7, x7, e6 and various others) does not work longer.

@ Mclaren and Sammy Lover: You guys are so right. I'm so pissed with Nokia that I feel like breaking my Nokia phone (e72i) everytime. Once I get money, I'm buying something else. I had always admired Nokia but right now, I could shoot the CEO (or whoever is responsible) in the head for their outright foolishness.
Can you guys imagine that in the heat of mobile phone competition, when every phone company is struggling to bite a share of the market, Nokia was foolishly repackaging phones with the same stone-age technology. What a stupid company!!
Now they are saying they don't have a good outlook. Were they expecting to sow pears and reap oranges. Damn!!! I'm so furious. In fact, for that level of stupidity, I hope they crash and burn. IMO, the CEO should be fired!

.i think it's veRy coRageous of nokia to make such a move. Instead of just to simply play safe and follow other competent manufacturers using "THE ANDROID" os ,they're taking risks which i think is a good thing. And I just hope it would turn up positive for them.
