      [deleted post]Well,
He said "great hardware", not "fastest hardware"! Thuis sure makes a difference! :)

Despite the fact that everyone seems to be busy with Nokia bashing, their hardware is great (if you ignore the cheaper / lower end devices). I just got me a N8 (for the camera) and also an E7 (because of the larger screen and physical keyboard) and I must admit: they have excellent build quality.

Anonymous, 01 Jun 2011The problem with Nokia is that they don't listen to their c... moreor sell their current outdated devices at dirt cheap prices! Who the hack would pay for near US$700 for an E7, where other Android phones with qwerty keypad (Milestone 2 and Desire Z) cost around US$500~US$600?

I agree with Fongy. android will rule the world.
as we all know, linux is much better than mac and windows.
as for nokia, going to wp7 will not change the fact that android rule the smartphone/superphone industry. ^_^

yyaahhh!!! agree.. i still believe that nokia will be going to the top again and lead the smartphone again...i still love symbian but i think its time for that OS to say googbye....android is the solution but i understand that they are too late for that and they cannot differentiate there products to some android phones out there..."RIM IS THE NEXT PALM" they say...so i believe that "ANDROID IS THE NEXT SYMBIAN..." the true race here is between iOS and WP7..therefore WP& is the true answer and a saver for nokia...and i love it....and it is lot more delicious with a mix of meego device...i conclude that i am excited to see NOKIA with a giant WP7 and a speed of INTEL inside phones with MEEGO!!!....hahahaha

x7 and n8 are good but they are missing: 1ghz cpu and bigger resolution on lcd. i have n8 and iphone4 and the difference of resolution is very clear. and when you download something via 3g or wlan and you try to make a call in the same time, the n8 is very slow. is true symbian is what i like more, but they nokia nees at least 1ghz cpu

The problem with Nokia is that they don't listen to their consumers or any advise that concerns their phones. I mean somehow its their fault for not attaining their goal profit which obviously why people are also the reason why Nokia is losing profit. But basically, the market shares nowadays is determined how the people respond to their products. I just hope Nokia LISTENS to people so we could help each other by giving feedbacks and making that feedbacks into reality. For e.g: Symbian Anna, High Processor and Higher Resolution or any other important features which we can only be found on phones.

You know the two most "vocal" and "hardcore" fanboys are those of Apple and those of Nokia...
It shows just how much loyalty both companies command...
As an impartial... I have to say that Nokia has one hell of a mountain to climb, it's not impossible, but they'll never be considered by the market (or I suspect most of the public) as a #1 company again...
Who knows what the future holds...
But in my crystal ball I see...

Android #1 (Sammy / HTC being main winners, SonyE to a lesser extent)

Apple #2 (due to only releasing 1 phone every year, they can't command the coverage, and their annual upgrades are only slight)

Windows #3 (this is where Nokia could make a dent, but they'd need to really make a desirable handset, as HTC / Sammy are already making pretty decent ones - Nokia have to be the go-to company if you want a Windows phone, otherwise it's all over for them..)

Blackberry #4 (always something for the dedicated business person)

The problem is that WP's adoption is very slow. Let's all be realistic here folks. WP7 is having a hard time making a headway into the US. It got a 1% marketshare. People are not buying it.

NonAnon, 01 Jun 2011Well Nokia's Shares dropped 12% after this announcement. No... moreso 3 months after the "big change" future is quite bad for Nokia. If i was shareholder after 3 more months without any positive progress i'll start calling for blood and a head-shorter managers. ;-)

Anonymous, 01 Jun 2011in my opinion, the real problem with nokia is marketting. s... moreActually Elop's announcement helped MS product, advertising potential market volume increase for developpers. MS success in PC world is based on attracting developpers (ideally all of them). No developpers = no applications = no market for competitors. That was case in desktop and SOHO server market. That is case in handhelds - checkout Apple - iFans cheerup at AppStore, not at hardware (though it is quite fast). Same is in Google camp. When analysists prepare their reports they compare app stores, nothing else. So why Elop decided to help MS and not so much Nokia will remain mistery.
