in my opinion, the real problem with nokia is marketting. specifically, elop n his big mouth. what killed symbian wasn't the competition but elops poor communication skills. announcing a switch before it was even initiated.
I have no doubt though that nokia is gonna come out of this still as the biggest manufacturer.
My advice is that there double their efforts in the services industry in emerging markets. Like here in Nigeria, nokia is loosing the premium markets to bb because bb has better relationship with cariers. I still find it hard to believe that we arent officially supported in the ovi or is it nokia store. to buy apps i have to use a uk proxy and pay in pounds.

AnonD-2486, 01 Jun 2011The customers care, you don't matterActually he does matter, its customers like him that Nokia needs to attract to expand. If Nokia only depends on their current customers then there is no growth, only decline. Nokia needs to win new customers over which is why they ditched Symbian and sided with WP7 as no one gives a shat about Symbian.

I can't believe how much Nokia have been sleeping in class! They have learned NOTHING. The small phones they make their money on (Symbian) they are killing off, Maemo that was THE best multitasking OS EVAR they killed off, Meego the "successor" to Maemo they stopped supporting.
They keep sending mixed signals and say one thing, then do something else ex. " we're killing off Symbian, we are not killing off Symbian... ...yet! but soon". So people that had faith in them get cold feet 'cos it seems Nokia have no clue what they are doing. WP7 sales are not going really well, so now they're putting all their faith in WP7.5 ...eh they are not right in the head those Finns from Nokia.

Why can't Nokia just give up on Symbian and WP OS altogether now, and focus on developing the next OS instead?
