HTC make some stunning devices. Innovation and they went the extra mile of recent times. I still love my HTC One A9 which just got an update tonight. Gorgeous as ever. For sure they build quality, Google knows that. I want them to stay, and get some marketing happening.

AnonD-301832, 07 Sep 2017WTF did Google do with it's previous acquisitions ?
Mot... moreHum, Samsung contribued more on Android than Google. PiP, VR, Vulkan and Multiwindow: all before Nougat.
SD card before Lollipop
Coloured system bar since 4.2.2
Wifi direct and DLNA on 4.0
There are more stuff they've added way before Google or that isn't yet on stock, like Themes (since 4.4.4).
Oh and Google buying Motorola is just to have a deal that makes Google and Lenovo share patents. That was because of the Apple series of lawsuit in 2011. Google feared Apple would claim some patents so Google bougt Moto, becaise they've got a thousand patents that might've been useful. They did it really fast. It's a shame since the Moto X and Moto Gs released when Google owned Moto were very good. They were mini/alternative Nexuses (Moto X got 4.4 before anyone else)

In the mean time I have sold 2 units of U11 and stil have two pcs with me (sapphire blue and solar red).
I use the solar red as my daily driver, and trying to sell the sapphire blue..
I also keep my HTC10 as souvenir.
Apparently that doesn't help lol.

Anonymous, 08 Sep 2017im afraid the day will come thay there are only iphone huwa... more I like your comment here. In other words, you recall and remember cell phones history, acknowledge it's current state, and support smaller companies, even though they may charge more than bigger companies.
That's pretty noble of you. Also, I'm glad to read positive feedback on online forums as such, especially when there's been a bunch of decidedly dimwitted troll like comments lately. Cheers.

If Google buys HTC they might end up keeping the brand alive for maximum 2 years retain all the patients and then sell it to AA Chinese brand/manufacturers same like they have done to Moto which now is nothing but a danm Lenovo .. people who don't know still think they bought a Motorola inside is a Lenovo..! Later people say ... Hey HTC is back let us buy it ..!
A 20 year old smartphone brand is planning to shut only because of this cheap Chinese copycats , who just copy steal R&D from these multiple old brands and kill them .. ! The bad part is people support it because they need cheap Android phones if not a costlier iPhone..!!

I thought a major reason Google bought Motorola was for the patents.

I'd rather someone else buy HTC, because if it 's google, they'll certainly kill sense UI because they're plain android mostly.
I hope, or I wish I should say, that company who bought HTC will continue the great hardware and audio excellency, also the camera quality is the best lately from HTC.
Some people heads, as I read on these comments, are still stuck on 4 ultra pixel, which irrelevant because HTC has moved to become the best in camera today, but there are d4mbass out there still think HTC made worst camera, yeah...right !diot!
One thing I agree as an htc fan, this company's just don't listen lol... The changes (of camera) was too slow. And m8, m9 failure was fatal now, the 3.5.mm jack is another blow.... You should aware that people are so stubborn even when HTC provide adapter to 3.5mm jack they still refuse and that's in today competition you need to listen to d4mbmasses or you die!
I have HTC10 and U11, both are excellent phones which OP can't came half of it's excellence. Even samsung s8 with its S-lag can't compete with u11 fluidity. But then I'm not the one to decide, it's the d4mbmasses, or people just simply opt for half quality budget phones.. These situations aren't in HTC favor at all.
I hope for bezelless u12, but maybe it will never happen, actually got really surprised to see u11 sales are low despite positive reviews as excellent phone with great camera and audio.
Kudos to HTC, you are irreplaceable to me !

Patents grab.
Name the one big firm who did nothing to aid android in the early days, did nothing for years and has killed off its own phone business, but makes shed loads of money from every device sale..
Yep,good old Microsoft, they get loads of licence cash for patents they hold that lots of makers still use...
Google buying HTC has been rumoured about 5 times in the past,it has little to do with what HTC themselves want,it's what the tiawanese government will low the sale or not,me, I reckon they wouldn't allow it..
HTC have mostly themselves to blame, they should have continued to listen to what users on xdaforum were telling them, asking for,but no,HTC decided that they needed to break into the American market, totally failed but killed wwe sales by making American centric devices, even though wwe sales dwarfed American sales...
Ex HTC fanboy as I am,they bought it on themselves,fools..
