And for the first time the iPhone is the best at multi-core too.

Mostly nothing when it comes to ios. It might be fast, but mac's are not ready for arm computing and x86 and 64 is not easy to replace. Microsoft knows it better, they already made windows 10 work on arm but, still, their is a huge problem. Processing. (i do not know why am i telling you this) Anyway, going back to apple, let's not forget that benchmarking is like taking a dum% at a public toilet and making it fast.

Apple started off as Apple Computer. For people too young to remember it and only came in when iPod or iPhone were released, Apple started selling personal computers from a garage. Now Apple is designing chips faster than what current desktop/laptop computers have! This isn't surprising. Computers have always been their roots.

If iPhone SE was a throwback and homage into their past with updated specs, the iPhone X is a tribute to their past and glimpse into their future. This is the most special iPhone Apple has ever made since the first iPhone. I hope they keep the X-moniker. They did mess up with the naming scheme by skipping 7s and 9. This is why I will refer to it as X like the letter. I want an iPhone X2 over saying it as iPhone XI (Eleven). People including me used to mistakenly say OS X when it was really OS 10. Nobody cares about proper pronouniation anymore and just give it different aliases. People now refer the 2013 HTC One as M7 after the M8 was released. Nobody just calls it HTC One.

You can say iPhone Ten, I'll say iPhone X. There's no iPhone SE for me without completing it with an X. A11 Bionic = iPhone Xcellence.

These scores are for... moreI understand most of your points, with one correction: While the x86 instruction set is fundamentally a CISC design, modern Intel and AMD cores translate the instructions into RISC before processing them, which should eliminate the advantages of RISC. Other than that, I understand the point about the dye size, but it would still mean Apple, a relative noob in CPU making would be able to make Intel Core-sized cores draw a 4th of the power of intel cores while still outperforming them. As I said, the 8th gen cpus outperform the A11 by 30% or more, but those are quad-core designs, while Apple uses only 2 high-performance cores, meaning Apple still beats Intel in single core at much less power

I am not a fanboy of any brand or OS, I like switching between iOS and Android phones. But I can tell you that even the two year old 6s Plus is faster than the Snapdragon 835 on the HTC U11. And the U11 is faster than the S8. I own both the 6s Plus and U11 and while I prefer the U11 because of the better camera, I'm amazed by the A9 chip even beating the Snapdragon 835. That's why iPhones are so expensive and the resale value is so high compared to other brands. They offer excellent and steady performance. And also not to forget, the 6s Plus which was released in 2015 will receive more future updates than 2017 Android flagships like the U11, S8, XZ Premium, P10 etc.

Anonymous, 16 Sep 2017You better believe it. Intel is not very good at making cpu... moreIntel's team of CPU-design is at least 10 times greater than Apple's. The x86 instruction set should be clearly superior to ARM's instruction set which Apple uses for the A11. Again, if the results are legit, Apple could and should give up on Intel for their mac line. Heck, they could just use the A11 chip as is, if they provide an x86 emulator in their next macbooks. With this 4W chip, we could expect over 20 hours battery life from the next macbooks and 30% better performance. It would be the biggest change in laptops for decades and would blow Intel out of its monopoly-filled water. Still, we heard no such plans from Apple, so I insist something's fishy about the benchmark. Either it's wrong or geekbench scores are useless

I am actually a person that likes to learn when somebody knows better about something. So, this days, i am trying to digest quantum processing, advantages, spookiness and all the freeze part. Why spookiness? well, i do not like the self programing capability of possible future androids (not the lame system) that could get way to smart in a way to short time (128 cubits of processing power, that is insane).

AnonD-191847, 16 Sep 2017GSMArena, are you sure the benchmarks are legit? I mean, I ... moreAs much as I’d like to say it’s false. These scores are for real. And a few reasons why.
This is RISC CHIPSET. A RISC Chipset relies on much shorter instructions compared to CISC Chipset.
Plus. The A11Bionic has an INSANE amount of L2 Cache: 8 MB! A typical phone with RISC set typically has maximum 3 MB and this is the FIRST RISC based Soc with nearly Thrice or Quadrice (x4) the Cache amount of a chipset of that type.
Third point to consider: Die size. The monsoon core is AS BIG AS A REAL INTEL CORE! It’s LITERALLY enormous core! For comparasion the Mongoose M2 core for samsung. Which is AMONG the highest Single core score achievers in the android realm. Is about half the die size.
Third thing to consider. Is the amount of Transistors. In all of Snapdragon 835 CPU there are about 3 billion Transistors.
For comperation with our Subject. The A11B, the A11B CPU has 4 Billion in total.
Fourth thing to consider is clock speed. Due to the fact RISC chips do not need that high frequency. Their preformance can be Equal and even surprass CISC chips if done correctly.
I hope I have answered your Question. Marcell

iPhone is able to hit such numbers because of the synergy between hardware and software that only Apple is able to accomplish as they produce both the iPhone and iOS. Android has a lot of fragmentation and it makes it very hard to score well on benchmarks. Anyway, the 7 Plus with the A10 "only" is still faster than any other device out there, so these results are logical.
