If this score is right, it means Apple could design a chip that has 4 or 6 of those high-performance cores in an under 20W package for ultrabooks that would rival Intel's 65W desktop i7s in performance or even AMD's Ryzen line. It doesn't make sense. The only other possibility is that Geekbench is bullshit

It is Android V IOs, an ad expected IOS destroys competition in Benchmarks
A top down comparison would have Apple iPhones with large gaps for features NOT on iPhones but on Android
It is the bottom up that scoring so high in these benchmarks in someway replace all the features iPhone lacks
It always seems to become partisan...
The issue for me is a simple one as un 2011 my SGS II had a super amoled screen is why pay more

Having an Amoled Screen is not new technology nor is a 5.5 inch screen on a bezel or bezel less phone.
There will come a point if not already when the cpu responses are imperceptible
It really doesn't matter as the real updates you will pay for.
Apple are on course to being a Trillion dollar company, that is $1000 Billion, ($1 Billion is $1,000 000,000)
Why? Calling say Vitamin C Ascorbic Acid doesn't somehow make it different ir superior
If there is anything different in the phones not a 50% hike, the AMOLED screen costs $70 whereas before $40
Ultimately even if they had a presentation and it was shown that the IPhone X was 98%+ the same as the IPhone 8+ they still would buy the IPhone X

A11 is a good hit for Apple and good to for Android users because at the end if now looking the benchmarks the Android users demands better SoCs for its flagships Samsung, Huawei, Mediatek, Google.. will be forced to, at least, to improve their best SoCs to have them happy. So consecuently we will all win at the end.

Apple has one device, one OS.
Android has 1,000's of devices and multiple OS's with varying UI's over the top.
If Apple didn't beat the top android chipsets then i'd be questioning Apple.
It's a completely crap victory anyway, what exactly are you going to do with that horsepower?
My Oneplus 5 runs The Windwaker from the gamecube at a solid 30fps like the gamecube did, Tekken 6 on the PPSSPP emulator, God of war, you name it, all perfect, battery lasts two days +

People are foolish to believe this. Let me explain.
Google's Android OS and Apple's iOS are two different smartphone operating systems with two different SDK (Software Development Kit) which is used to develop applications for these operating systems. These benchmark results would have made sense if both the Android Phones & iOS (iPhone X) ran a standard 3rd party universal benchmarking application created for both the OS which supported a similar format for the benchmark app. Apple has the upper hand here, because they are using iOS instead of Android. I doubt Apple might have paid the devs behind the benchmarking apps to zoom past Android's benchmark scores. The end. This is pretty useless. Benchmark.

Still useless as a device. And for your info those benchmark apps are optimized for IOS because Apple pay for that.

GSMArena, are you sure the benchmarks are legit? I mean, I did expect them to beat the Android counterparts, but that score crushes the i7-7560U, the 15W most powerful Kaby-Lake ultrabook CPU(averaging around ~8500 points). Apple's A11 is a 4W CPU for crying out loud, I can't believe it has better performance than a 4 times as hungry intel chip. The 8th gens are much faster, even the i5(~13000), but still this score would make the new iphones much faster than anything but the 15-inch macbook pro(including the Macbook Pro 13 with its i7-7560U). If Apple has the capability to obliterate even Intel and AMD in CPU-making, they would have long designed their own CPUs for laptops too. This score just doesn't feel right, it's either wrong or Intel really got lazy since it had no competition from AMD for years before Ryzen.

The difference in scores between SD835 (1 mb) and Exynos 9 make sense to me now (of course there is more than cache which define the CPU speed). But if Qualcomm and Samsung ramp the cache in their future SoC's, in theory they should also achieve higher benchmark scores.

These benchmarks are just marketing hype.
I dont care about how fast a device operates as all devices move relatively fast nowadays.
Its all down to a matter of preference.
