05 June, 2011
Looks like there might be trouble in paradise for HTC fans. Nordic Hardware’s tests have proven that the new HTC Sensation also suffers from the same dreaded death grip as the iPhone 4 but...

[deleted post]All I can see is a comment from an iphone 4 owner regarding the deathgrip issue in general.

Funny how all you see is one big conspiracy by Apple. Your reply was typical of your kind. Ill informed and insulting.

[deleted post]You are saying Nokia devices are superior in materials??? Weird... I had a Nokia before and was very unhappy precisely because of its build quality which was very shaky and there were clicks from the keyboard to the camera cover... No comparison to the Desire, believe me.
As to Symbian, the system was not bad but felt archaic in comparison to Android which at the time was still 2.1...

This is not good news. I do not want a phone which drops anything wireless when I hold it on another way the designer meant. I use the iPhone 4 for a half year now and at home I cannot make a telephone call while holding in my hands; however when it's laying flat on the table there is no reception problem. I wanted to upgrade to a Sensation...

The contacts in the cover, with the red circles, are most probably for the microphones. I think the antennae are build-in, but that is not an argument in this story.

And: please GSM Arena, give this phone a complete review, with photo and video comparisons. I'm really curious about your over all opinion.

I think I gotta agree with the YouTube comments - it should be tested just laying flat on the table

[deleted post]Stop trolling. Yes, Nokia build quality is good, but get the facts:

                1. Nokia bought Symbian corporation then killing it.
                2. Nokia didn't help in MeeGo development, thus disappointing Intel.
                3. Nokia didn't improving their propietary OS, S40 since long ago. No multitasking, no smart dialling, they forgot their own OS.
                4. Rather than equipping their camera with autofocus, they put the inadequate fixed focus dubbed EDoF on their high end products. So, if you a Nokia fan and want to shoot a document, you should buy a N8 because your expensive E7 can't do it.
                5. Nokia is forgotten everywhere but developing countries.
                6. HTC, SE and Motorola is well known for making high quality and solid Android. Maybe you're blinded with plasticky Samsung and LG.

                Problem?

[deleted post]Rather sweeping generalisation there Rocks! Nokia hardware has always been good but the software and actual ability of later (smart)devices especially has let them down both in terms of reliabiity and flexibility. Open is the new closed i'm afraid and sybian isn't where it's at.

first for this year was the Desire S, now this... I think HTC needs to do a major rethinking with their product design language. Though one of the commenter is right about the way the testers have to lay the phone flat in their hands to attenuate the wireless signals... I wonder if people ever use their handsets like that?

Oooh! Was considering the Sensation or the Evo 3D to replace my beloved Desire but now I will wait and see.. hope the Evo 3D has not the same issues otherwise I'll just look for other alternatives...
A blessing there are so many options with Android ;)

well surely the way he was holding the phone should be enough for people to go durrr when do you hold a phone flat in you hand, i dont think i have ever done it like that. I tend to hold the phone like he was when it worked, i feel tthe majority of users will find this fine, and i bet if the iphone 4 didnt have the issue in the first place, peple wouldnt go looking for this issue i all future handsets.

cheers apple for letting the mobile world get fudged in the rear end

Yes thats right HTC fans. Good thing we have Steve Jobs. He advised us all to hold the phone properly and get a bumper case. That way that phone will hold its reception. So instead of showing off your phone, wrap it up so no one can see it. Well, as long as it works right! All you iPhone users need get a life. You have become slaves of Apple. Steve Jobs says and you all obey!!! Apple can go around charging what ever they want for their products and and you keep on buying. Bottom line is the iPhone 4 does suffer from reception problems so just admit it.
