They just want design from flagship samsung and use it as daily phone without playing heavy games. All they do is chatting and check instagram feed, so i thinks this is a win win solution.
And in my country the price of the s8 twice as much as A5 2017. And s7 still expensive too.

I have A5 2016.
I plan on getting the A5 2018.
If it comes with a 5 or 8MP front cam because of tiny bezels, I wont get it.
It is not good enough for skype

2018 midranges like A5, Z3 Play, XA2, Zenfone 5 will have a cpu that may be as strong as the SD650 or 805.
Only in 2019 these phones will reach 2015 flagships

I bet this exynos 7885 is not going to be as powerful as last year's exynos 8890 and will probably even lag behind 2015's exynos 7420 (which was also manufactured with 14nm technology by the way) in GPU performance. Why can't Samsung just use either of those SoC's instead? Is it really cheaper to manufacturer a newer but less powerful chipset?

Samsung's Logic for the A series: Copy paste the yesteryear flagship S device, make it better in some areas, and worse in other areas. Price it nearly as much as the yesteryear's flagship S device, and market it like it's the best smartphone that they've ever made in the world history.

make sure your camera's glass won't be clean

Samsung should put the fingerprint lower. The fingers can smudge the camera.
