Chess has countless variations. After a game I want accurate and fast computer analysis as possible and the cpu on J5 2017 is barely enough for that without waiting few seconds to double triple check and come with another line in specific variation... If you give me similar reason I will agree with you, but that shit loads calculator with 0.0.05sec faster is ridiculous.

Dont buy this. A series is like 3 years behind S series in processing power. So the equivalent of the A series 2018 is the Galaxy S6

Just like Zenfone 4 and 3
So if the Zenfone 4 has 835 the Zenfone 5 will have a 845 and that will carry on so your theory doesn't make sense for the Zenfone series
I agree on all the other phones you mentioned
Also the New 600 and 400 Series Chips are getting close to the previous years flagships
SD 660 is almost close to 820/821 in benchmarks hence I don't think there will be a gap of 2-3 between flagship chips and Mid-range chips going forward it'll just be 6months - 1 year.

My J5 2017 on battery saving mode with 50% reduced cpu speed is opening everything extremely fast. You don't need faster cpu. It's all about marketing, to make you buy next product

Well, look at that, Samsung does know where a FPS belongs when you place it on the back of a phone, instead of the incredibly stupid location they have the FPS on their current flagships.
Also, they could still stand to lower it some even on this phone, to provide some vertical separation between camera and FPS like all other manufacturers in a common sense fashion, but still much, much better than on the S8 and Note8.

But still weaker than S6, 6p, Z5....
Maybe something like a " SD 635" , " SD 640" or a " Helio P35".
CPUs that can reach between 75 -78k antutu.
