A bit late but a welcome move. A brand like Sony shouldn't be stagnant in providing better designs for their mobile devices, where their other devices got better designs to go with. This is kind of realization on part of Sony that they are going nowhere with their bezel full boxy designs.

Oh god, every time one of these morons at Sony opens their mouth, they spit out ridiculous geeky sounding meaningless names to delude the public.
There's nothing "balanced" on OmniBalance. The bezels are to large, the top- and bottom lip are too big. Just as usual Sony thinks to wow the crowd with cool-sounding crap.
Just as Google with it's "material design". I expect wood, marble, brushed metal or other texture when I hear "material design" not some drab flat shit.

Going beezleless may sacrifice their trademark stereo speaker setup . After that people will complain again that sony should not do that

Why do they not fix their cameras? Sony has lens division, sensor division and HBM chip design division. They make the best DSLR and high end camera sensors.
And they still lose to Samsung, Apple, Huawei, LG and I don't know how many others in their mobile phone cameras.
That is not an oversight. It's intentional.
As long as they don't fix that issue, they will keep losing a sizeable chunk of buyers, who need a good camera on their phones (and no, 2 seconds of 1000fps does not good camera make).

well i've been a fanboy since the CMD Z5 days but sony is messing around with the supply of the XZ premium. coming to SA in drips and drabs and if i dont get mine soon then hauwei P10+ here i come
