Sony exec: next-gen Xperias to have bezel-less design

Sony's boxy design feels truly elegant. The design is iconic at this point. Only look at the phone and people can tell it's Sony (those who recognize the branch nowadays anyway).
Chinese manufacturers don't copy it, so it is one of a kind, unlike iPhones and Galaxies which are copied by everyone (including big manufacturer like LG). I hope Sony doesn't give up that exclusivity.

Faith dies last so don't worry about it yet. xz1 just came out it will be awhile before we see a new flagship.

Actually Sony was the first ever OEM to make a phone with a very promising screen to body ratio with the Xperia ZL in 2013! If only Sony brought back that design along with the IP rating then it could have made their phones more popular especially for the flagship ones. Now I think I might have to stick with my Mi Max 2 till I find out what's next for Sony's smartphones. I am excited for the Mate 10 by Huawei too! :)

Right move Sony. Your bezels were too large. I do not mind having small bezels, but yours were out of proportions! If you shave off the bezels and bring a good aspect ration (not like the new Samsung's remote controllers calling themselves smartphones, and better battery sizes, you will have many more loyal followers.

I like how everyone's hating on the phone claiming they're just jumping on the bandwagon
saying they're slow on the trends, but the bezelless trend has only been going on for a year
and, you guys just hatin since sony is a legit threat...

They really just killed the XZ sales by announcing this. I honestly dont know what are these "exec" are doing. Their marketing is inconsistent, very weak and just plain confusing, especially in the naming department. I used Sony devices since the Z1 days and until today, I still love their devices, but in time, they are not going in the right direction. If they can get the marketing well, they'll sell for sure, but after Samsung announce the S8 and Note8, they really need to up their game. What's the point of winning IFA best innovation but no one knows about it.
