Deal: Unlocked LG V20 drops to $302.52, a new all-time low

29 September 2017
Undoubtedly, this has something to do with the fact that the V30 lands in the US next week.

Sony Fanboy Bitches, 30 Sep 2017It's just time that we move on from removable batteries. T... more"The more you remove the back of your phone, the more it degrades its lock rigidity. It's the same way as to how batteries loose their charging capacity every time you fully charge them."
-This is not true at all, I've removed my Note 3's back cover so many times for past three+ years it is still locks in place perfectly.

"With non-removable battery, you get a waterproof device and a more durable back like metal."
-The S5 had a removable battery but is waterproof and there are other manufacturers out there who have made a phone with a metal body with removable battery.

"If it ever gets a problem, just let the electricians do their job, because sealed batteries aren't that so hard to be replaced anyway,"
-Not exactly, most flagship phones today will require a technician to tear the phone apart just to get to the battery. Even with a successful battery replacement the phone will no longer be as intact as before.

"and power banks do exist for years to replace the duty of a removable battery. With the power banks, the user may not be able to charge his/her phone as quickly as replacing it with a fully charged spare one, but it contains usually more than 3x the capacity of the phone's battery, that costs more than the power bank."
-Yes they are nice to have handy, but what will you do when your phone's battery can no longer hold a good amount of charge? Attach a power brick to it forever?

"I think it's just about time that we lose that precious but impractical thing. Yes, it is impractical, because one can steal your SD Card or SIM Card inside but no one can with a SIM ejector-operated SIM Slot or SD Card-operated SD Card Slot."
-Why would someone steal the SIM or SD card when they can simply steal the whole phone?

"And would you want to be made fun when you're seen by people in public ripping off the battery and removing it, then replacing it by a new one and make an extremely annoying loud sound produced by slapping back the back cover?"
-I'm pretty sure not everyone is a jerk, almost no one cares and no one can hear that "extremely annoying loud sound produced by slapping back the back cover."

You are completely missing the point of replaceable batteries. I have been using my Note 3 for over 3 years. I've been charging it at least once a day because I'm a heavy user. When the battery wore out, I simply bought a new one and bam good as new. The only reason tech companies moved to sealed batteries is to make you replace your phone every 1 or 2 years and buy their new models. Not everybody can do that. Ideally, we should use our devices until they break and/or become too obselete. Most people don't realize the impact of manufacturing these phones in the environment.

In the era of 2x or even 3x times overpriced phones,300$ for a very good V20 phone seems like a very good deal indeed.Does it mean it comes without those QuadDACs and B&O earphones? And possibly few other goodies?

Romie Lee, 30 Sep 2017LG is a company with an Apple and Samsung wannabe attitude ... moreA much bigger mistake is to buy a so-called "premium mid ranger" with flagship design, but inferior materials and much worse tech. A prime example is the € 280 Xperia M4 Aqua, which I bought, and which was the biggest mistake I ever did. It was seriously worse than my 2012 iPhone 5 which had much less resale value at that time. But people learned and now the M4 resale value dropped below iPhone 5 resale value

Why does LG uses a lower capacity battery in almost all its phones?? Even for flagship phones like V30, V20,G6 ...battery never exceeds 3300 mah. V30 has 3300 mah battery and weighs 158 gms. Why dont they provide a 4500 mah battery in V30 and let it weigh 180 gms. What difference does it make? It will only make the users happy. They can always have a Power version of their flagships. like say LG V30 Power with 4500 mah battery ....rest of the specs remaining the same.

harsh, 29 Sep 2017Can i buy this unlocked phone from USA and use it in India ... moreThese V20s appear to be Unlocked AT&T and T-Mobile models. I'd check if the bands are compatible with your carrier, but they are GSM.

I just talked to a couple of nice guys from Craigslist wanting to buy my Pixel or my G3 Beat. The buyer who bought my Pixel helped me out so I can finally cut my Verizon line which makes my V20 my daily driver by default. The buyer who wanted the LG has a G3 that malfunctioned on him until he got the dreaded bootloop. He took care of it and it is in pristine condition.

Made me very concerned with LG's reliability. It seems his G3 has a self-destruct mechanism in it. Dreaded bootloop after three years. This is making me worried with my G5 and V20 looking to be die by 2020. I don't like iOS, but it is making me consider going iPhone again. Apple lasts and many repair shops can replace the battery or whatever is broken to lasts even longer.

Very good price! Yes it doesn't have the top spec latest cpu but it's a very good phone for this price. One of the best cameras in the market, QHD screen etc

LG is a company with an Apple and Samsung wannabe attitude but look, it wasn't working... Marketing is so bad, resale value is so damn bad! bad customer support. worst phone maker I know ever exist so far with too much issue having pre installed in their phones itself like laggish ui, bootloops, very bad battery life, terrible quality, horrible design language and so on... buying premium smartphone from them might be your biggest mistake you will ever do to your entire life! So think many times before making such mistakes. In just a few months after you did, price will suddenly drop like a heck! living you of feeling like being ripping off from time to time!!! I suggest everyone not to buy an LG flagship, but if you still want it, buy only it if it wasn't freshly released with freshly hefty price. Wait for a few months or even a year is a good thing.
