the OP5 then Nokia 8 last Google pixel with regards to benchmarks
Remember the S8 is also Snapdragon 835
The Nokia 8 @ 550 Euro or 50 euro more than the OP5 is a less expensive S8

I think people here are not understanding that
devices like s7 duo are present in the market for a longer period compared to s8 duo
Obviously u hv 2 consider that too before calling something disapointing
S8 is among many others is quite an all rounder device among others unlike some which come with just a good cam but no expandable storage well above average bezel n an exorbitant price

This is why it is iPhone Xpensive. Manufacturing cost is $600 instead of $240 like on the iPhone 7 and 8 series. AMOLED cost double than LCD. You either blame Samsung for the X markup or you blame Apple for not being able to manufacture their own stuff while still wanting to maintain its profit margins of $400+ per unit. It doesn't matter if the S8 flops. Samsung still wins if iPhone X sells.
After you try so many phones over the last 13 years like me, you realize most of what we buy is based on design or trying to look cool to impress strangers you never said a word to. Fashion phones. Stick to never paying over $400 for ANY phone. The best phones are usually the most reliable ones that aren't always the prettiest.

No one has mentioned this but I believe the popularity of the s7 is because it's the last flagship flat display. By the looks of it Samsung won't produce another flat flagship which is deeply disappointing because the curved edges really distort when watching video. Also Samsung has the most colour accurate oled screens and still provides a headphone jack and telephoto lens unlike LG which has wide angle. The 18.5:9 aspect ratio is also too tall resulting in phones that are too tall. My LG g3 is the same width as the note 8 but the note is much taller which I don't really need and is hard to fit in the pocket.

Samsung will be making more money on the iPhone X than their own S8 line. I read iPhone X is expected to sell 130M in two years. The announcement was very premature though as expect delays.
This is why Apple allied themselves with LG next out. Samsung has a monopoly on AMOLED. The delays are probably because Samsung can mess with Apple acting like a mole similar to Chip-gate.
Note7 fiasco felt like there was a mole who sabatoged the device weeks before iPhone 7's release. Fake news to ruin its reputation and help its rival. There were probably way more LG bootloops than Note7 fires but never got the same amount of bad press.
Apple needs to look learn how to cook for themselves. More success from the X, more money for Samsung.

It has nothing to do with what you said. No matter how good a product is it doesn't sell out in 1 day. Wait for next year stats then you'll get similar results for S8 family.

The S8 was a disappointment, not a bad device but primarily it had the wrong size: the S8 is as tall as the S7 Edge and almost as wide, and the S8+ is just massive, same as the Note 8. There is no Samsung flagship with regular size.
The S7 and S7 Edge were incredibly good devices, that's why people did not feel the need to upgrade. The S7/Edge camera is great and still extremely close to the S8, while the S7 small size, good battery for the size and front fingerprint sensor makes it a great buy even now. The Exynos versions of the S7/Edge have better battery life than the S8 family.
Now with the iPhone X, Samsung better bring up their A-game and release a truly bezel-less phone with smaller size than S8 and under-display fingerprint scanner, otherwise they will be in trouble.

s7edge is still best overall phone you can buy today although iphone 8 is not far behind

Well... the S7s had a lot of very good deals since the N7 died fast. The 0$ S7 with a 67CAD plan was a good one (Fit2 included for free)
