AnonD-505842, 15 Oct 2017Sony will rise againThat will never happen only in your dreams :-)
I am sure of it. They stopped doing notebook called Vaio because were a lot expensive and for a same price any other brand offered a lot better notebook. Same going to happen to their phones and playstation devices.
They started to describe own history book loong time ago and they will end only in history books soon or later. Xiaomi will swallow them and lot of other chinese brands as well.

Rather have a good mid ranger phone for 300-500 which do the same thing than buy Apple for 1000.
Anyway the difference is not big enough to waste the money for apple.

Nokia fan boy, 15 Oct 2017At first, many Apple would say this till now. " Apple will ... moreWho is „many apple“? I have been using iPhones since 2012 and never said they are number 1, not in sales, not in quality, not in anything like that (except the beastly iPhone 6s and 7 speed). But there are sadly many fanboys who say „my Galaxy Snumber has the best screen, camera, everything“ or users of cheap € 150 China devices (not Xiaomi, but Vivo, Doogee, coolpad, ZTE) who say their sh*t is better than the lastest iPhone. And then there are those who use a Sony/HTC/OnePlus/Motorola who still lag behind in the past where their brands produced the best phones available, while today, they only produce normal phones at a high price.

Apple, Samsung, Sony, HTC, blackberry, LG and Motorola are falling together.

                    1. Apple are always great in selling iPhones for many years, but no innovation so far since 2011 after Steve Job died.

                    2. Samsung have been showing off their phones doing well like brightest AMOLED display, edge screen, best camera and others. However the selling is not as great as iPhones.

3.Sony loved to make very huge bezel phones which in case this year is the new era of bezelless smartphones display that many people loved it.

                    4. Disclaimer: ( Sorry everyone, I don't know about the problem of HTC yet.)

                    5. Blackberry is always being loved to make qwerty keyboard and not entering the smartphone game until 2015 which until now only a handful of people buys it.

                    6. Ok this reason is tough for me. LG have been known to be the most underrated phones since 2006 when they launched their first smartphone was "LG Prada". But because that time the hardware was worse, no one buys it which was the similar case of the LG G5 and the G6 that uses older processor, price keeps dropping and increasing and bad display resolution.

                    7. Despite like the Moto G5 is the most popular mod range phone ever and has been loved by Asian people, the sale is too weak. The reason is not only the Moto G5 but also others phone is, no customer care service, no warranty and no contract.

So you can tell that no matter if the brands are the most popular ( Not Nokia for this time in 2017), they actually secretly goes into bankruptcy!!!!!!!!! You cannot tell or deny.

Yeah! Dammit. Some people actually love to purchase what is the trend. It is not about the quality anymore. It's the Brand matter.

"Apple is keeping complete control over it's products, but it is not overconfident, like Nokia. The thing that helps them is - sole player ( rather use word master ) in iOS."

Strictly you could say that Nokia in general terms were the sole player left on both Symbian and Windows. So that is not enough to keep your position, if you insist on giving people something they do not want on their phones (Windows). I still see Mr Elop as a Troyan Horse brought in to make Nokia cheap for MS to make a hostile take over. Unfortunately the manoeuvre not only reduced the price, but killed Nokia Mobile in the attempt.

I can not see aPple as anything BUT "overconfident", just like Nokia, they have not improved their product substantially since Iphone 1, It has merely been a slow evolution. Any new player that comes up with something that 'anyone wants', can kill them, if they are not eaten before they get flying.

And the Windows-thing is NOT just a matter of apps - as many claims. You can run a lot of Android apps on other platforms (like the old BBOS), but people still did not want to buy these devices in substantial numbers.

Well, brands come and go. That's how it is.

                                    Terrible graph though.

It is interesting to see what trickles the user base of GSMArena, but it would be really interesting if this was shown along with a graph with the same colours of the actual marketshares.

The small interest of aPple products in the user base is a healthy sign for the user base, not letting them self fall for the spell of "The Emperors New Clothes", but -unfortunately- it does not reflect the populations choices. On the other hand the high interest in HMD (Branded "Nokia") hardly reflects their actual marketshare.
