Foldable ZTE Axon M is official with dual touchscreens

17 October 2017
When you unfold it, you get a 6.75" viewing area, although the hinge separating the screens and the bezels don't help create a very seamless look.

This kind of split screen has been in business for Well Over One Decade (Actually about THREE DECADES) in the form of Dual Screen Nintendo handhelds also known as Gameboys. In those two-screened wonders, one could play the same game across Two Screens.

Also, interestingly, while this is a Dual Screen, it is NOT a foldable screen (which TBO is a DOA idea TBO).

This one looks a little Clunky, lacking any kind of aesthetics flair. Also, the way the device opens is particularly a disappointment. It seems to have very poorly handled design elements.

The whole idea of bendable screens seems to be a recipe for disaster, with super susceptible screen damage, damage to the body of the phone, inability to use screen guards, and difficulty in fitting outer casings.

Dual Screens are the future. Though, just not in this manner and implemented as such.

destined to be a flop product. Two screens with only 3120 mah battery? few takers for this thing but it is a precursor of new platform for innovative products in future.

good try, great to see some innovation in the phone industry. but I was expecting it will become a tablet size like 7 or 8 in at least.

Coldheat06, 17 Oct 2017This is actually a pretty good device and for being the fir... moreno, it's not 1st generation.
Sony already did it in 2011, and it failed.

The only thing I like about this phone is its multitasking function. Probably the most perfected split screen I have ever seen. I would love to use it for watching videos in full 16:9 screen and chatting or browsing in full 16:9 on the other half. Or even run two same apps at the same time.

Well, NEC made a foldable phone years ago, and it's flop so I don't expect to much for this phone either, smh.

Interesting concept, yet inmho, single large 18:9 screen devices (V30, Note8, MiMix2 etc) offer similar split screen app functionality in a more useful onehanded design/shape.

A great idea for a device. Love to see someone doing something different.
Hope it pays off for them./

They did this all wrong. Curved edges is needed for no bezels feel when unfolded. The screens need to be 5.5 inches with 19:6 aspect ratio to give it a 16:9 ratio when unfolded. Jeez let me be in charge of design.

Not quite sure what to think about this device, but at least it`s something different..though can`t find a reason to buy one, especially for the price.
ZTE,should I wait for Axon 8,will it come this year?Christmas time will be soon...

Meh, fail. You heard here in gsmarena first.

I don't understand why Huawei is doing so good but ZTE fails to learn from their competitors and do something good too. Axon 7 was nice but it lacked a lot in software and support. They should've improved that and release a proper Axon 7 successor.

XxoxX, 17 Oct 2017but look men, we are in a time when 16:9 and 18:9 dominate ... more18:9 dominates media production ??? what have you been smoking
this is about watching on 1screen and doing something else on the other
yes you can do same thing on both but its just an option not the only way

I have supreme disappointment. I had thought before the hinge would allow the screens to be folded inside. That is now not the case. It also appears that one portion of the phone has a battery. I had thought both halves of the phone would have a battery. For a device with a unusual shaped, but usable footprint 6 hours of screen on time would have allowed this phone to be pitched to a few different markets.

However, ZTE has put innovation into this device allowing one camera to take both positions, although I can't imagine how trippy it will be to watch someone take a photo of you from the back screen.
