We think the benchmark got it wrong, though.

Hi again, this are the specifications in chinese:

        General:
        http://www.slashleaks.com/wp-content/uploads/screenshot_20102017-3.png

        3Gb RAM version:
        http://www.slashleaks.com/wp-content/uploads/screenshot_20102017-4.png

        4Gb RAM version:
        http://www.slashleaks.com/wp-content/uploads/screenshot_20102017-5.png

I bet for a Snapdragon 625 due to the clock or an underclocked superior, so it seems that they maintain the SoC to keep the prices, I doubt that it could be a P10. Display 5.99" TFT?

I don't know chinese. Can someone translate the most relevant? I can see that these are the chinese versions, I don't see B20 band. It's to be seen if global versions will have something different.

            Hi. This is from TENAA:
            http://www.slashleaks.com/l/xiaomi-redmi-note-5-pics-tenaa

So, it has a single camera and perhaps a bigger display. Remember what happens with the area and the formats 16:9 and 18:9 so we'll see. I can't see the capacitive buttons although I hope are there. We know that the Redmi 5 will has a Plus version. The question is... will the Redmi Note 5 has a Plus version an improved performance and dual cameras or not? Questions, questions... Soon will know it.

Jyothi , 19 Oct 2017Rn5 will launch with SD 636 for sure as it supports 18:9 ra... moreEspecially since they've put the SD660 in the mi note 3 this year, it will suprise me if they're going to make that Phone obsolete this fast.

Rn5 will launch with SD 636 for sure as it supports 18:9 ratio ..also a decent update from sd625 ..660 somehow looks unlikely.

So, while not the SD652, it still beats the RN4 in terms of single core and overall performance. So, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Xiaomi go even lower, though I hope that is not the case.

Anonymous, 18 Oct 2017Good news and bad news. Good news: Redmi note 5 will come... moreGood news:
                          - u r being fooled completely when u believe Xiaomi will be using P series for their bread and butter series.
Redmi Note series are phones made to bring semi flagship-level performance (high-mid level SoC) into low mid-range, and no Helio P series capable of doing so.
So, Xiaomi will likely use Helio X30 for Redmi Note 5, as the 2 previous iteration had used Helio X series.

                          - u r being fooled completely when u believe Xiaomi will priced it near US$300 for their bread and butter series.
Xiaomi's main selling point which made them as popular as it is now is their "bang for buck" devices. Unlike other Chinese manufacturers which completely relies on MediaTek SoC (especially the VERY CRAPPY ones, like MT6735 &MT6750), Xiaomi offers devices with Qualcomm mid-range SoC OR MediaTek High-end Helio X series for their Redmi Note series.
That's where they are excel at, making their brand known as "market-destroyer", which made even Samsung forced to upped their J line-up with "acceptable" specs to keep Xiaomi's phone at bay (still, overpriced for what the specs offered, IMHO).

                          - With Nokia 7 phones coming soon, I believed Xiaomi will use SD660 or SD636 when launched (there are gaps of several months between the MTK version and SD ones, so the SD version might come in 2018, where Qualcomm might discount its SD660 for the end of the year sale, making the previous leaks of Redmi Note 5 with SD660 very likely to happen).
Hell, even if they release Redmi Note 5 with SD650/652, it will sell like hotcakes, as long as they don't use they "easy way out" strategy like before, using SD630 for ALL their mid-range devices, a SD625 mk III literally, like SD617 was.

As much as I would like to see 660 in the redmi note 5 I don't think they will do it. It would be much better to use something like a sd630. As to this leak it's most probably someone with a redmi note 3 having a laugh.

Let's hope that it will be better than that.

It seems like (almost) nobody noticed, that "Topology" mentioned "6 Cores" not 8, so it's surely not Snapdragon 617 (since that one has 8 core).
The test results indicating, that this chip is Snapdragon 650, because aside the score, the SoC's data is identical with the Redmi Note 3 (Snapdragon version).

                                EDIT: I was a bit late. :D

They could steal the mid-to-upper tier market if they make the Redmi Note 5 with a 660 built-in, big beefy battery and place it < $300.
