We think the benchmark got it wrong, though.

Ugh it was a mistranslation....... The weibo said will not come with 660 at this price point then English websites changed it to will come with 660. It was never going to come with 660!

Don't believe what you see on Geekbench, unless you know what you need to look. You can see a fake iPhone 7 Plus with Intel i7-6700K processor working on 32-bit Android at Geekbench database.

Indeed MSM8952 is Snapdragon 617's code, but that one is Snapdragon 650 in fact. It's single core score and multicore score both, core count and motherboard code fit the bill hence all Redmi Note 3 phones listed as MSM8952 on Geekbench database. Check out if you don't believe. That phone is most probably a Redmi Note 3, and its owner fooled you.

i'm still thinking that this leaks are not true and just a crap trying to mess up xiaomi note 5's near announcement debut date and you guys are correct this is xiaomi's bread and butter SERIES! this series is the future of their brand so it will millions or billions of profit they will be getting :) SNAPDRAGON 660 IS NEAR FOR THE XIAOMI NOTE 5, with dual cameras and near bezel less design! ill still buy it even if it is near $300 you can't find anyphone smartphone in the market who have this chipset and selling like a bargain price.

Am I the only that sees "1 processor 6 cores"? It's a hexacore, not an octacore. The 617 is an octacore which further supports that its not the 617

Or is the Snapdragon 660 or is the Snapdragon 636.

Either way is a MASSIVE improvement over SD 625 and if is 636 is going to 652 levels with better battery life.

There are different captures out there, which one is the real one?

This one, for example, like here:
                    https://prostotech.com/uploads/posts/2017-10/1508345094_screenshot-2017-10-18-at-19.40.49.png

Or this other, which match what a SD 617 scores:
                    https://i2.hd-cdn.it/img/max_width1000/id719192_1.jpg

Someone or some webs are playing with these. So, better take it as fake or a mess for now.

I thought identity of the devices we're usually disguised as product codes (e.g. Xiaomi Oxygen = Mi Max2)

Cant be true, maybe sd 630, but 617

If it's not SD660, at least the SD636 please....

A cortex A53 that scores near 1500 points on geekbench is an impossibility, at least for its current manufacturing process and clock speed. So I believe it must be something else, even though the multicore score is freakin' weird with almost 3000 only. Looks like the device only has two cores.

I was shocked for a moment. But after reading the last sentence: SD660 for € 130 would kill every single phone on the market, period

fake news...they can't downgrade their most selling decvice series...rn3 pro user here

Seriously 3gb of ram not ideal?? Well looks like all the 8gb of rams smartphone have brain washed the perception of a smooth Android performance.
