BlackBerry Keyone successor already in the works with Snapdragon 660

The Keyone was announced a while back. If they had announced the Keyone 2, now, that could have been seen as an already.
But the Keyone used a pretty old cpu on release, probably due to the development starting quite a while back. Just releasing a successor with an up do date CPU would make a lot of sense. Even though it perhaps would anger some of the buyers, that just got their Keyones.
If the Keyone had been released with a matching pricetag, to its slightly out of date CPU, and the new one would come with a pricetag relevant to a phone with an up to date CPU, they could have probably reduced the risk of any such anger.
But one thing we have to accept, the Keyone, due to the keyboard will be more expensive compared to other phones running the same CPU. However, the keyone was and is still overpriced considering the level of performance even when the keyboard is factored in.
There are some other things, that could make the Keyone an even better product. If they plan on improving those features, this migt just be a development platform, and by the time of release, the Keyone 2 might have just as outdated CPU as the Keyone 1.

I can't speak for a scenario where the user unplugs it from the wall, just to play the most intense game the chip can handle, until they run out of battery, in that scenario it may not be.

BlackBerry has no idea what they are doing, no wonder many years they just trying to survive. Offer phones with midrange specs and with physical keyboards and small screens, where people looking phones with big screens and most importattly charging as for flagship because it is "secure" :) you can consider BB as dead, it will not grow or improve, unless they change their CEO and start to give what people wants

Sounds good but l am tired of old specs due to sluggish performance, lack of memories and multi tasking not smooth will hinder people from buying the device. Hope it comes with at least 6GB RAM and 64 GB of storage.

Get the Zenfone 4 or Oppo R11 series, both uses SD660 chipset.

The 660 is gonna be the premiere upper mid range chipset used. Wondering if I should hold off on buying a Moto phone until they adopt the 660

SZtadir, 28 Oct 2017I still want a sequel to the priv. I like my Priv and the s... more I used to have a Priv. Best handset screen I ever had: period. It overheated often while playing my favorite game (due to thermal throttling caused by issues with it's Snapdragon 808 SoC). The game (Galaga Wars) is fixed to portrait mode, so, the screen would slide up intermittently, sometimes interfering with game play. I liked my Priv much better with the pre-installed Android OS, than with the OTA OS update, because I could go to the home screen and it would play YouTube videos, and after installing the proceeding update it would not. Lastly, it's loudspeaker wasn't befitting of a 600 dollar $ plus flagship: it wasn't loud or powerful (doesn't sound very good either sadly).
SO ! If a Priv successor debuts, it would benefit greatly from being able to lock the screen in place that covers the keyboard, or come out with a keyboard version and a version without a keyboard, plus an improved single firing speaker or dual speaker setup.

I still want a sequel to the priv. I like my Priv and the small keys don't bother me since I have mastered it. The display is very good too. They needed to only improve the battery life and camera.
I hate the fact that I won't get Nougat, so I would be very careful about buying another BlackBerry though.
