Apple is truly pushing SOC to the next level....an A10X or A11 already surprass an Intel dual coreM in graphics and raw power, i see it in games or editing in apps that are 99% the same with the exact same features on both platforms windows 10 or ios

Hmm... Fans are cool, but they will decrease battery life heavily. They're a frictional, moving component, not like display or processor.
I think phones should try metal sleeves (empty passage in the phone) for air/ water, that are closeable, but normally open to environment... this copper sleeve should pass closely through heat prone areas in the phone like processor, chipset.
For example, if my phone starts to heat, I blow some air into the sleeve, and hot air comes out from the other side...
If its getting hotter, I just put water in that sleeve, and let it remain for about half an hour while I am gaming on my phone, and then I'll drain the hot water and refill it with fresh water... Easy, isn't it?
If its boiling like hell, I will use a small nitrogen machine to enclose gaseous nitrogen into this sleeve... that will chill up the baby processor!

hey 16vs32bit does matter maybe not a lot but still there is a difference since gpu will have to calculate only half the colors it will have some spare power to do other things
you can make unstable 25fps game to solid 30fps just by reducing it to 16bit

(geez gsmarena I want a proper edit button please)
What I forgot to say it that games on iPhone run way better not only because of beefy SoC and optimization but also because of the lower resolution.
Look at current consoles, switch is 720p for a reason and Xbox One and PS4 got updated variants to run at 4k and the other at 1440p mostly, but those 2 are not based on mobile hardware like the Switch, Switch is a better comparsion to smartphones.
You cant compare a console with non mobile hardware fairly to smartphones, numbers dont say anything otherwise a 3,6ghz Athlon would be faster and better than a ryzen 1700, or P4 3,4ghz better than a 10 core i7 running at 3ghz...

Akinaro, 05 Nov 2017Truth that nobody like to mention is that Android as a syst... moreJust kill me, if the "rest" are shady add-fueped apps then tell me why Monument Valley or OPUS exists.........It's just you and other people who don't know how to search for them.......
Also the ads are becaise a large majority of Android users don't have the money to pay for the games, so ads are a way to be able to pay, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Plus you the "proper" gamer can pay to remove them.
The current trend of "add" games is more becaise of the amrket rather then the lack of power and ressources......
People you should stop with that stereotype that mobile games are trash and whatnot, jist because they ain't amazing graphically or they run on weak systems.........A game can be super simple, but still FUN, something Games are meant to bring, or else they're just a glorified cinematic running on mega powerfuo hardware...........

AnonD-474824, 05 Nov 2017But can it run CRYSIS... The question is more "can it run Crysis 3 at max settings?"
Answer is no, even a GTX 1060 drops to 50fps on 1080p with that game lol

If current phones had 720p screens then most of them could have graphics like the Nintendo Switch.
Most smartphone games look bad because power vs their resolution and the fact 99% of games on play store look shit because making such looking games is super easy.

Akinaro, 05 Nov 2017Truth that nobody like to mention is that Android as a syst... morestop nonsense, google has redesigned every core elements and highly optimized ever since android 5.0,i would say the new oreo 8.0 is a pure gold. As for power consumption it doesnt really matter as long as OEMs started pushing battery capacity to near 4000mah in the newer devices including fast charging tech.Unlike some ignorant people Nobody wants to last battery more at the cost of features.
if you take iOS in to the account its light and power efficient yet Apple provide laughable battery capacities not to mention their locked up jail system so no win there either.

[deleted post]fancy F look? xD where the heII you find that in my comment?
Fancy look is ONE OF THE REASON why current android fail every year.
Android have linux Kernel and all its possibilities, but it dont use it at all. It stuck deep inside of system using maybe 25% of its potential.
Its 2017 and right now Android should be fighting on the field with Windows as ultimate system, but because of those fancy addons and social medial crap we stuck with system that cant really be used as system for work. I know that because every year Im trying to use Just my phone for work and it fail in such simple work as sending more advanced email than text with one or two pictures. Any formating in eg Gmail or other email app is pain.
So stop being moron and read all comment before you start writing nonsenses.

If someday comes, now still imaginary "surface phone" running win32 apps, we may see some comparison of AAA titles.
Until then I prefer whats done with Xperias, streaming from PS4 - full size game console.

Do any phones use vapour chambers for heat dissipation?
That's one of the nost effective ways of moving heat from the chip itself to the heatspreader.

Anonymous, 05 Nov 2017Nokia N-Gage... "In Memorial"Yup.. The Nokia N-Gage was providing full 3D games on mobile while the handheld console only managed 16-bit sprites(GBA).. Still remember the awe playing the Tomb Raider/Colin McRae Rally 2 on the N-Gage

Truth that nobody like to mention is that Android as a system it self, need all that power.
If we look at raw power that we have in devices from 2016-2017 is enough to run even some PC games from 2004-2007. Of course its totally different platform, but if we look at pure computing power and resources it is enough.
Whole problem lie on Android, that for past years is like grandpa wearing new clothes and drive new car... but inside its literally system from 2006, patched with glue and paper to look good. It was never designed to be what it try to be now. Google should literally dump current version and create new system with back-compatibility long time ago. System that would could fight in market with even windows, as system all-in-one that can work as phone and as proper computer with just plugged external screen/keyboard.
But sadly now all we have is that grandpa patched with new fancy clothes that need lots of energy to act young, and maybe more than half of power can be used by apps/games.
But google is not alone here, other problem is lazy devs that dont really care about quality and optimization. There is no real requirements and guidelines for devs that they need to fallow to be able to get their app/game to market, market that is made 50% from shady useless apps and games(millions of flashlights apps and millions of unplayable 2d games) and rest is nothing more than clickbaits and microtransaction heavens covered with so many ads that you dont know if you play a game/use app or watch 24/7 stream of advertising.
