Sometimes it may look funny if you have to do this in a crowded place that everyone in that place would know that you are trying to unlock your mobile. Not everyone would like such glaring action infront of strangers. When it fails or asking you to show your face properly, one may get annoyed. It may be a good option during blacked out places where no one cares what others do, but NOT in a well lighted common or crowded places!

i love the design and all, waiting for the full review, and i cant think of why not add a finger scanner on the back ? its not much but will make the phone more complete

Apple could atleast borrow one feature from Samsung, an always on 3d touch home button under display. The swipe leaves it useless.

Btw I'm using Samsung and like it. But iphone made a good phone this time and sales will prove it. I hope other brands will not copy the pricing next year :)

Touch it will no change anything, it's a phone made of plastic, metal an a punch of electronic componentes, like the 99% of the phones. Doesn't has any special or rare material that will make feel it different when you touch it. And ironically the only thing that makes it stand out from the rest and makes it unique is precisely that notch eyebrow that makes it look horrible. In fact, that rounded body plus the rounded bezels makes it look like a pneumatic boat.
