sa11oum, 07 Nov 2017Practically speaking, your phone recognizing you without yo... moreThat's where touch ID is superior at this moment, not because of Face ID being a tad slower but because convenience, To unlock X you need not only to look at camera but also need to interact with screen to complete the process, there's no way getting around it, else the whole point fails if you disable that requirement of looking at camera, interaction is required to avoid random unlocks, say when you simply want to glance at time with always on display, device should not unlock. Touch ID serves both recognition and interaction in one step, hence more convenient, and faster in both recognition as well as overall process, not to mention you can unlock it while taking it out of pocket or if it's lying on a table next to you without having to pick the phone up. Granted recognition with Face ID will get better over time and speed would improve too as with any other technology, but apple missing the whole point of convenience.

it's pretty shocking not to include the Galaxy S8 duo.. i mean..i don't care about the Apple v Samsung bitching.. the fact is that the S8 Still has the least bezel. it's almost 84% screen and it's likely to get slightly higher with the S9 duo early next year. and it'it looks way better than that weird looking screen with notch and horns either side. anyone who seriously thinks this is a GOOD design is kidding themselves. it would have just been better to have the small top bezel the whole way across. simple as

Jesu ness xD just an... moreHonestly speaking, Sharp AQUOS Crystal X (or just Crystal in the States) has the THINNEST borders on the top and sides, excluding the bottom. 2mm of thickness on left, top and right; I say AQUOS Crystal X should be the prime candidate for measuring the thinnest possible bezel (excluding curve; purely straight screens)

But the tech is still new and a bit slow and we're not used to it. Expect it to become better and more mainstream in the coming years

This is ridiculous to leave the Essential Phone out of this comparison. It has smaller bezels on the top and sides and the notch is way smaller than the Iphone X. You should update this article to add the Essential phone comparison.

The notc... moreIf they would have given touch id in back then there would have been only front camera notch on front like essential phone. Which would have made this phone Damm sexy to look at. But nooooo, they know apple fans will buy anything with apple logo in back. As once Steve jobs said consumers don't know what they want. This phone is not what iPhone X should have been. Reviewers can't say this phone sucks as no one have courage to say so. Can anyone tell me how is facial recognition is more convenient than touch id.

I don't understand why GSM Arena simply doesn't ever consider the essential Ph-1 and brags so much about the Iphone X. There wasn't ever any review, not listed on the phone brands, and doesn't compare the bezels with the Iphone x in which, according to GSMA, the bezels are smaller than the Iphone X in ratio. So this post is invalid x)

This whole ultra wide trend on phones this year seems pretty stupid to me .
As long as TV and PC monitors are dominated by 16:9 most media will either look bad (cropped, stretched etc) or not use the display properly (black bars) .
It also makes phones less comfortable to operate in the majority of apps these days .
IMO they should have waited for TV and laptops to adopt 18:9 first .
Overall 18:9 is a huge gimmick for the media currently available today .
All it does is it allows phone makers to advertise phones that appear larger than they actually are . A 6.0 inch display sounds huge but it's actually just as a 5.5 !!! inch when playing most games, watching twitch, youtube etc .
Bezel-less display is other huge gimmick that looks good but in practice it just makes the phone less comfortable to operate , especially when gaming / consuming media .
Why would you sacrifice palm rest space, device durability, better heat dissipation , and sometimes stereo speakers just to get a few strangers to turn their heads at your phone ?
Again it's all just a big gimmick but it sells cause people are easily influenced by flashy tings that get promoted by hard paid ads and reviews .

The iPhone X is a great phone but I have no nice thing to say about the Notch. However, for most people that get the phone, they won't care about it after some time.

The iPhone X looks good, I like the design. Especially the white back and silver trim. The rest is nothing special.
