I understand that GSMarena has had a hands-on experience with the N9 and is impressed, but its dedication to NOkia and Meego borders on fanboyism. I would like to see some more impartial journalism and perhaps an equal amount of dedication to other brands. Thank you.
PS. From I can gather, the N9 is full of goodies, but most "have to be added later". Hardly sounds very appealing for such an expensive device.

Neo, 27 Jun 2011This phone is packed with a bunch of features but it missed... moreIt seems USB OTG feature just needs to be enabled in software as the hardware is already there. (Like the N900)

For all those who have concerns about the price: that is the unlocked, contract-free price. I think you'll find the good Androids and iPhones are at least that price when purchased contract-free.

So, £376-£470 for a phone that's obsolete before it's even launched!
The CEO of the company that makes it announces that they are not supporting it... "even if it's a massive hit".
Developers are abandoning it although we are told that a rival platforms apps (Android) will run on it.
I must say that this is a very bold and new marketing concept that I've not come across before.
It's almost like they want the phone to fail. Perhaps it's just a proof of concept so that Nokia can sell off MeeGo, as they have Symbian, to raise much needed capital... or is it the price Nokia are paying for Windows Mobile?

matt 2, 27 Jun 2011Ever wondered why the N9 was not anounced back in february?... moreIt's sad that we have Mr Trojan Elop at the top & only shareholders can remove him by calling an EGM.

Nokia has always been smart enough to ask high price for the first batch and then pretty quickly dropping the price when supply meets demand. Smart move since there are plenty of us who want the device first and dont so much care about the price.
I for one am getting the 64 Gb version as soon as it is available. I don't really care if I could SGS II for lower price. N9 has better design, UI and is more open. Plus it has Nokia quality casing, camera and call quality. These are things that matter to me.
Could the samsung trolls please shut up? We know your opinions, how about you understand that SGS II is far from perfect phone also. If I would choose Android, I would be getting LG Optimus 3D anyway.

Elop is fking retarded. How can he think he will run the business without customers. All the loyal customers are wanting more of MeeGo. MS must be supplying some drugs to Elop for him to be so sprung with MS.

it's too expensive, $600 just for a meego?
And after this phone, there will be no meego device, so it means, you will not get any supports later.
And the swipe things? I think its crap. Coz u need to remember all the swipe if you want to using this phone....
Even it using a good quality plastic, it still a plastic... the only good thing in this phone, its the camera....
iOS/iPhone and Android is still the best
