Couldnt agree more. The quantum is blazing faster than the old one. Appreciate the new look as well. But idk, will it get slower in every usage?

Chrome-based browsers are alredy blazing fast and working perfectly on my PC with dated AMD cpu and 4GB of RAM.

And I already customized it the way I want, made it even more functional than the older Firefox. Why would i want to try the new, less customizable Firefox? Too late, guys. Too many years (Like, from the beginning) of lags and hangs. You are irrelevant anymore.

I have been testing Firefox Quantum beta. It is pretty good and I love it. In phone too I use Firefox as it gives me options to have add-ons and reading mode.

Happy that I moved to Firefox from Edge.
I just got frustrated with waiting for Microsoft to fix issues with it..

I have noticed that the new Quantum is faster. I was surprised by how noticeably faster it is.

I'm going against the grain here, but this Firefox is awful to use. Any why does it insist on making all fonts bold? It looks terrible!

Am I blind, or there's no Firefox Quantum on mobile yet? The article said otherwise, but I can't find it, neither on Mozilla page, nor in the Store...

Make sure both of them run ublock (or both of them don't run ublock) though, as this makes a huge difference... I've seen people testing chrome with ublock vs firefox without ublock then loading 10 sites with crazy amount of ads, then they both used +- same amount of ram, which, well yeah, you load way more high rez content lol.

                                  30% less RAM?
I've just built a brand new machine - a fast one. 7 tabs open on Firefox Q is using 1.2GB of memory. The same 7 tabs open on Chrome is using 700MB.
I should also add, every time a new page is loaded, there's a huge spike in CPU use, more than any other browser i've just tested against.

Carol, 14 Nov 2017Best browser ever!!! Speed is not everything...It is when you work with 30 tabs. I used to use it over 10 years ago and loved it. Switched to Chrome. Then, tried Firefox again last year for a few months and it couldn't handle the tabs even though I have 16GB ram. It's not about the ram though, it's about using old code. It would freeze for a few seconds sometimes, slow down randomly, lag in scrolling. I'm glad to see this update! I always have loved Firefox. Time to test this out. I always have Firefox installed :D.
