Noone can beat my Seinheisser HeadPhones w/ 3.5mm jack even the Most expensive bluetooth once or crapples.

Then atleast put 2 charging ports then.. how hard is it.
No they just us to buy their crappy earphones.

I just remember how it was annoying (some years ago) that you were not able use headphones because your phone is charging, and I just have no idea why more and more manufacturers are removing it. I would understand if there was newer and better solution (except bluetooth) but there really isn't. Why they don't place two USB type C port's if they think quality and other stuff is better? And in the end you can find 3.5mm audio jack in way more devices than you can find USB type C for example. Removing it was just way too early. But yeah, Apple started it all, so I guess we all need to follow it, right? Damn no.

Anonymous, 20 Nov 2017Can you blindly insert headphone in USB Type-C port? Can ... moreIs understanding causality that hard? I said CD's and the internet replaced 3.5" floppys. This happened at the turn of the millennium. I didn't claim CD's took over the world for all time to come, like you seem to have understood it as.

And interestingly, there was as much opposition to removing 3.5" floppys from computers and using 3.5" floppy disk USB dongles as there is opposition to removing the 3.5 mm port from smartphones. Same ridiculous arguments too from the opposition.

And yes, you can insert a USB-C blindly. It's bi-directional and flat. And yes you can charge and listen to music at the same time, but shouldn't even need to with modern battery lives and fast charging. And yes, you can plug certified USB-C audio equipment into any USB-C port.

As for using USB-C equipment on devices without USB-C ports? Are you serious? Can I plug 3.5 mm headphones into my portable hard drive? Can I plug them into my expensive hifi gear with only a 6.3 mm port? Can I plug them into my friends' HTC U11, Moto Z2 Force or iPhones?

Can you plug the micro USB Type-C headphone in laptop, in tablet, in phone, in mp3 player, use as aux in car?
Can you use your USB Type-C headphone in your friend's iPhone?
Can you charge and listen at same time with your USB Type-C headphone?

These are the things , 3.5mm jack is able to do ,and companies are taking away. It's sad that some people are defending them.

Are you in 90's, dude? CD's are long gone too for majority of people.

Denis Thomas, 20 Nov 20173.5 jacks on waterproof phones have either silicon glue or ... moreThe waterproofed 3.5 mm ports are 900-1000 mm³. The ports are limited to a very few areas where they can be placed, limiting the placement of other internals. They are 6-7 mm thick. The 3.5 mm port needs a rather big round hole on the side of the device, which is unaesthetic. It's also more costly to implement and waterproof a phone with a 3.5 mm port, and it adds bulk.

But most importantly: IT'S FUNCTIONS ARE ALREADY DOUBLED BY THE USB-C PORT.

It's the same reason we saw the death of the 3.5" floppy disk drive. CD's and the internet took over the functions of the 3.5" floppys.

And are you actually comparing a regular and plus-sized iPhone model with regards to space constraints? The Plus model has a dual-camera, 1000 mAh larger battery, 1 GB more RAM, etc. It's literally stuffed to the brim with more components than the smaller variant.

The XZ1 Compact has a 15 % larger volume than the iPhone, and the iPhone has a very large haptic feedback engine in the internals. The XZ1 Compact is incredibly thick. That you pretend like it isn't, and that you try to disprove that waterproofing adds bulk when even manufacturers say it does is just beyond me.

My discussion with you is done.

If you guys found ur phones battery got small juice on it, you can opt buying battery replacement spareparts from 3rd party manufacturer. I always do this to all my sammy devices, bcoz their devices always ended up having battery related issues, I replaced my a5 2016 battery after 6months usage, replacing it with battery that has more than 3400mah (the official spareparts only got 2900) and since then i never got battery related issues again, i done it to all my samsung devices.

And since a lot of people mirror themselves on the rich and famous they want to play with Apple. To maintain that position they use exclusive connectors on their products which change after awhile to enforce clients to buy new(er) products. They know that the fools buy their stuff anyway so they can get away with it.

While Android market is divided in the "poor" and the "tech-savvy". The poor just want to have a smartphone and go for the cheaper models, the tech-savvy go for the most advanced model or the best price/performance/features-ratios.

It wasn't until recently that Android manufacturers wanted to mirror themselves on Apple with all the crap associated like the removal of used and loved features e.g. user-replaceable batteries, IR-blaster, card-slots and headphone-jack. According to The Internet and iPhone users, it is. While in the Real-World it isn't. There's still A LOT of people use a 3.5mm. And not to mention A LOT of people HATES the "Dongle-Life" cuz it's messy, I mean surely you could buy a Wireless Headphones/Headsets but they're a bit Way too Expensive to get a Good Pair with OK sounds and everything. And even Samsung and others Companies proved that too.

This has NOTHING to do with "corporate defenders" but all with common sense. It's really stupid to ditch the only standard there is for wired audio and replace it with something proprietary and expensive with causes more trouble than it's worth.

Sites like this should start to realize that this jack is not only used for headphones! I connect my phone to the car-audio-system with this jack too. This has the advantage that EVERYTHING gets routed through the audio-system; calls, music and navigation-instructions. And with ease, plug-in and go. With bluetooth I see all these tech-noobs struggle as car X isn't compatible with phone Y and calls get through but music doesn't or vice-versa (while it is usually just a setting away). And when used as satnav you really need to charge your device while using it as GPS + screen-on drains your battery FAST!

Instead of making things easier those bloody corporations make things more complicated, error-prone and needlessly expensive. Sure, this way I can also charge +1000 bucks for a bloody phone!

Nonetheless, I vote with my wallet. Those companies WILL see diminishing sales in the future as more and more people object to their stupid marketing-decisions!
