I want this phone in Canada... Why the eff would I buy WP7 over my Nexus S? I don't want WP7, I want Meego. You know what Nokia?! You don't want my business, you won't get it. I'll stick to my current Android until you start offering me something good. :(

Once again Nokia has made the worst decision of it's company's history. Do they actually know how many people want the Nokia N9? But no they want people to love the Nokia Sea Ray and other WP7 phones. News flash Nokia we love the MeeGo OS not WP7 so give us the N9 and keep your WP7 phones!

Anonymous, 07 Jul 2011yeah because we're SOOO pumped to develop for wp7...Not trying to give Microsoft a big head but their are
over 30,000 reg developers and the app store has over 25,000 apps.
this is from November last year. of course that does not mean it will take the world by storm as they have not being doing that at this moment, but who knows?
The general public or the mass mind share the people who buy phones not to fiddle with and just use dont have a clue about MeeGo. And the offical app store not the side loaded Android one has only 178 apps which is what people care about.

Yes MeeGo truly rocks thats why so many people have heard of it.
And their is a huge app market just waiting for you when you
get your phone.
Oh and everyone as heard of the that thing you know that thing you can
use so that you can use Android apps
And Elop is a Trojan horse blah, blah of course noting that a company has a board and he had to be voted in to become CEO and the decisions that he makes he is not the only one making them oh and just to add that the board had to agree to go into partnership with Microsoft.
Lets forget all that and just say right here that MeeGo on the N9 is the best thing ever and this time next year its going to be more popular than the iphone and it cousin Android and developers are going to jump on this like nothing you have ever seen. YEA RIGHT!!!

AnonD-10525, 05 Jul 2011I honestly think this is a bad decision to not bring the N9... moreMeego seems to be a WONDERFUL platform and I bet it would. GsmArena stated that IF the N9 sells as good as the N8 or better, it may actually overtake the upcoming Windows nokia phonesm I bet my arm and leg on it. But since nokia CEO is a hijacker coming from microsoft, of course he puts windows phones over any other platform, doesn't matter if the platform is actually better than Windows (and of course Meego would be if nokia allows it to).
This decision to not sell the N9 on the US is just a prove to what i just said. Nokia is NOT interested in the success of Meego. It was just a phone they put out to flex their muscles, but in this smartphone era, just releasing an awesome phone is not enough, forget about the apps for it, just supporting what you release would make a huge difference (Updates-Even if the platform is stable, snappy, fast and bugfree, theres always room for improvement).

I honestly think this is a bad decision to not bring the N9 and N950 to the US and UK. I personally would love the N950. From what I saw its packing another 12mp camera. And that Meego OS is incredibly cool. It puts anything Android does to shame.

This is the dumbest decision they could have made. Call me a troll, but why the hell would nokia not release it to the US? it is like nokia is purposely not allowing meego to develop, not releasing N9 in the US or UK? most software devs comes from these countries so if the people is not getting an N9, devs won't make apps for it, since it doesn't have apps, the platform dies. Reason why the N900 (a wonderful phone) failed so epically. I'm not going to call myself a Nokiafanboy anymore if these dumb decisions keep poping up.

seems like they're drunk !!!
one day, they speak maemo and then meego.....and it will be w7 in the future...in the meanwhile, as a consumer i would really like to know if their OS will be supported by major banks in canada...i deal with 3 banks and do mostly online banking. i like nokia phones. but if i get one, will i still be able to continue online banking banking??
also, does it support ' TANGO ' ??

darthrevan13, 03 Jul 2011Dude, do your homework first. Meego will feature a Android ... moren950 will not be sold. ordinary people will have access only to N9. many supposed that n950 is actually preproduction N9, which was discontinued several months ago. Hence very limited supply. Only from developper.nokia.com.. or e-bay later. Nevertheless hardware KB is important and probably i'll pair mine N9 with bluthooth one.

Nokia, it is time to revolve. I think Nokia should consider 3 things as to keep their position in the market place.
1. Redesign
2. Fast production line
3. Price

Anonymous, 03 Jul 2011Don't be stupid. Nokia has announced Alien Dalvik. So there... moreAlien Dalvik?
dalvik has been out for some time. There are videos on youtube showing alien dalvik running on n900 yet where is it for the consumers and end users?
Olivier Bartholot, Myriad’s VP of business development which is behind alien dalvik said
“Because it goes really deep into the root of the OS, it cannot be a downloadable application. It would have to be ported prior to the phone being shipped. It would have to be a decision of the mobile phone manufacturer or the network.”
We wait to see. If nokia ships N9 without dalvik(although they say they will) then you are screwed. Good luck
