AnonD-12703, 03 Jul 2011Same thing was said about n900. I still dont see that much.So true. They said the same thing about N900. And yet... it flopped (from a Market standpoint).
And besides, who wants to use Gimp and OpenOffice on a 3.5" screen?

Anonymous, 03 Jul 2011Don't be stupid. Nokia has announced Alien Dalvik. So there... moreAlien Dalvik?
dalvik has been out for some time. There are videos on youtube showing alien dalvik running on n900 yet where is it for the consumers and end users?
Olivier Bartholot, Myriad’s VP of business development which is behind alien dalvik said
“Because it goes really deep into the root of the OS, it cannot be a downloadable application. It would have to be ported prior to the phone being shipped. It would have to be a decision of the mobile phone manufacturer or the network.”
We wait to see. If nokia ships N9 without dalvik(although they say they will) then you are screwed. Good luck

AnonD-12703, 02 Jul 2011listen, as good as maemo6/harmattan looks, there are no app... moreApps, games, developers on Meego/Maemo/Linux.Apps already exist that are much better and of high quality than any other platform e.g GIMP,Open office.Imagine how many Debian apps that i'll run when i get this N9.I can't wait 2 play the latest Age of empires PC game on this N9,that will never happen on any other platform.Developers want Meego, check any website, they want Meego.More Meego phones will are coming 2 the market later on this year and we'll see more nice things Meego has. What about WP7,you hope developers will jump on this burning platform,i don't think so.Good thing about Meego platform is it has full support from the Linux community.
Meego rocks!

http://felipec.wordpress.com/2011/06/21/my-disagreement-with-elop-on-meego/
dont believe bullshit microsoft trolls spread, meego is linux with its support many SOC.
while wp7 only supported with qualcom.
this is out own nokia hardware adapations technicians.
elop just spreading lies to make it look like wp7 its a good strategy.
sadly wp7 have poor sales. i dont think even nokia brand can save it.

AnonD-12703, 02 Jul 2011listen, as good as maemo6/harmattan looks, there are no app... moreDude, do your homework first. Meego will feature a Android emulator that takes advantage of all the hardware on the phone so the experience will be seamless. The emulator is called Alien Dalvik. Check it out.
I have patiently waited 2 years for a meego smartphone. Meego is truly a full fleged OS not like all the half-breeds that get passed for an "operating sistem" these days. The posibilities should be endless. This will be one of the few devices sold today that stand true to the "smart" in smartphone. My only disconcern is that it doesn't have a hardware keyboard. Although the N950 has one I am unshore of how much of an inpact a smaller battery has plus the TFT screen and the unoptimized 12MP camera. I just can't find a decent review to sort out if these speculations/shortcomings will prove that the N9 is the best choice out of the two.

i think that N9 is also a nice phone to use, since nokia used Meego/Symbian OS before, its good that nokia tried to use other OS like WP7, which brings a new character and freshe'n up not only the looks of nokia phone but also the interior of it, for me thumbs up for "ELOP"
btw, MEEGO, SYMBIAN, WP7, IOS AND ANDRIOD has its own capabilities and sense of style, thats it!! good luck to new nokia ^.^

chester, 02 Jul 20111st Elop is a M$ trojan, the best from M$,he's try 2 save WP... morelisten, as good as maemo6/harmattan looks, there are no apps for it. This is what drives the sales of mobile phones these days. Yes i know all about QT but have you seen the quality of symbian apps? They were the top of the cream back in 2006 but these days they are not worth looking at. Ive also had a look at the apps being developed for maemo especially the n900 and they are not apps that the average joe is interested in. There are no games that pack the punch that iOS provides.
WP7 brings something different. Apps that run on WP7 can be made to resemble the look and feel of the UI and are deeply integrated. Once sales of WP7 picks up, developers will start developing for the platform because they are money driven.

JunePhilippines, 02 Jul 2011Why Nokia don't run Android -
"He (Stephen Elop) tr... moreNot only this, but this article clearly stated why they were not going for MeeGo either. Elop's decision is logical, but would prove to be challenging.
IMHO, no one can really tell if Nokia's decision to go WP7 will set them right, but this seems to be the better choice than MeeGo (which is too bad!)
Well, it also states that Nokia will be doing improvements on the WP7 as well so this will prove to be interesting. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.
