Dave, 28 Nov 2017No headphone jack = No buy.Soon you get no phone at all.
It was add-on which began like 15 years ago and now its going to history.
Headphone jack is good for nothing but grabbing space for other more important things.
Get a bluetooth headphones or go back to dark age :-)

Any smartphone without a jack is no option for me.

Apple is now off my options and I hope manufacturers like smasung and alike will keep the jack.

        Try to recharge while listening
Try playing the DJ in a party without the ability to plug your phone to a wifi.

Sure there is alternatives, but why bother messing with complicated options not all the time compatible when there is a simple solution.

Any wireless solution implies batteries and recharging. batteries are already a problem with the smartphone itself and now, i should care about the battery of my headphones also?

How many batteries should I care per day?

My wired headphones plug to my phone and are always available any time. And if the phone lacks juice, I charge it while listening or playing.

Taking off this jack makes everything more complicated... i don't see any progress.

3.5 mm jack is a simpler and therefore better design for audio connections.

3.5 jack and Bluetooth connection should be an option for consumers and not the trend. definitely a no buy for me.

Rafe Firmani, 28 Nov 2017Crying baby Get over it, your choice is more limited on 2018Uhh because of people like you ready to accept anything they ram into your throat?
I don't doubt it'll be gone (Because of people like you), but i'll be voting with my wallet until i have no choice. And when i don't have a choice, i'll still be voting with my wallet - my phone may not have a jack, but it will be cheap. Just like my current phone is cheap because of non-removable batteries.

So proprietary connectors, countless headphones ( each with it's own proprietary connector) and adapters are the future, according to GSMArena.

one foot in the past? at least the 3.5mm jack & removable battery proved to be useful. Unlike the stupid trend of fake bokeh with 2 lenses, but sure, hey please get on that ship and sail away forever.

Daisy chaining devices was made a big deal.. What is proposed is each USB c male end to have a right angle adapter that can allpw daisy chain.. Its eaay enough to implement physically.. Thought practical function is yet to be seen.. And if you think there is no difference between a 5 bucks headphones and a 20 dollar one.. Brother are you so wrong.. But yeah there is a point of diminishing returns after around 50 bucks i think

Obviously i have no choice (Because in the end people always buy no matter what, and companies always get away with everything) and do buy phones with non-removable batteries, but only cheaper ones.

                                  I won't be buying a phone without a 3.5mm jack unless i don't have a choice just like i don't have with non-removable batteries.

It's sad we'll be stuck with crippled overpriced junk because of all those people brainwashed to consume (like) mad.

Apple charge you $19.99 for a piece of crap that they call iDongle or something, that will kill itself in a a bit after 2 years and not compatible with hany non iOS device.
