Huawei Honor V10 is a blend of Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro, cheaper than both

28 November 2017
In short, it's a Mate 10 Pro with an LCD screen and a 3.5mm jack.

For this price the phone is a steal and way better than oneplus 5t but I wont mind paying a little extra for QHD and better camera cause mate10 is only abit more expensive than V10 top model anyways a great phone

It is cheaper, but it's also missing a lot of the key features of the Mate 10-series.

Your Sennheiser Momentums still work well with an adapter. But more importantly, large headphones like that are not built for portable use. If you use them as such, it's a bit of an anomaly.

If you find charging Bluetooth devices to be a hassle, there are USB-C alternatives instead. To compare the removal of an redundant port with the screen is a false equivalence.

I know it is off topic, but do you know what is the male model's name on the wallpaper?

Do you really expect the Honor V10 to have the same exact specs of the mate 10 and Mate 10 pro at the same price point?

It doesn't have the same camera, you say. Well, it's cheaper.
It doesn't have the same build quality. Well, it's cheaper.
It doesn't have this and that.

          Well, it's cheaper.

What about more cheap aluminum or much more expensive gorilla or dragon glass? Learn before to comment anything. Rhat though glass is not cheap, especially if curved or stacked in 14 layers like in honor 9. You flooded comments with things absolutely have no sense.

Huawei is nuts. It will cannibalize Mate 10 and 10 pro sales, cause it is obviously best phone by price and feature ratio, what was the point to release 10 pro and 10???

More likely it's plain metal (aluminum).
The frame is probably too, just glossy.

Port wear is nonsense,I have phones that the 3.5 mm has been used at least 25.000+ times, but then makers actually built decent quality phones in those days, without the inbuilt obsolescence that they have copied from the rest of the rip off get rich quick at any cost brigade..
Someone please back engineer an HTC hd2,with 4g/lte on a good mediatek chip,+ more ram =nice handy sized rugged time proven model,at a sensible price.
HTC shot themselves in the foot when they failed to do an hd2((b),it would have sold far more than anything they have produced since killing off the original hd2..

Besides there is plenty of audio equipment that's made to last a decade,(My own senheisser momentum for example) all that goes just due to a port?
While you're right about USB having longer life, won't it wear down faster too since it's used multiple times a day?
Besides Bluetooth connection and another thing to charge is an unnecessary hassle. Don't I already have to charge my phone, laptop, smartwatch and everything else? No need for another thing with 8-9 hours battery life which will barely be useful for week before needing a charge. Besides BT also takes toll on battery life, increasing it's charging cycles
It had always been as such, companies shove stuff down customers throat and they gulp it. We need to vote with our wallet, otherwise our next phones won't have screen too

Huawei are winning lots of new customers, how,by offering a sensible choice of devices at almost sensible prices..
I do love all of you out there who have such faith in device makers.
They have departments that ask the public what they want and test devices on them do they ?
Met anyone that works for such a unit ?
Met anyone ever asked what they want/think by a maker ?
Customer response groups vanished years ago, makers mostly churn out something they hope enough folk will like enough to buy, nothing else.
Response groups is why Samsung still build loads of almost identical models with confusing model numbers etc,so that it is almost impossible to compare one to another.
HTC used to read and talk to folk on xdaforum, then they stopped and it's been downhill for them ever since they stopped listening..
Not everybody wants/needs the same things from a device,it's called choice..

Besides, you can still use 3.5 mm headphones with the USB-C port - an adapter comes included. Smartphone manufacturers have pretty big research teams that check trends and usage statistics, and they deemed the 3.5 mm port to be a viable option to remove due to its usage frequency and trends, without impacting device sales.

And they were right. Smartphones without the port are outselling their predecessors.

As for wearing the USB-C port down, it's twice as durable as the 3.5 mm port. USB-C is rated for a minimum of 10 000 cycles, while the 3.5 mm port is only rated for a minimum of 5000 cycles.

The LCD vs OLED debate is a personal choice. I'm fine with either, but OLED is arguably the better technology when it comes to colours, contrast and functions (such as always-on displays), with the main downside being the cost (twice the cost of an LCD, which you could be right to argue isn't worth the upsides).

looks like the frame is separate from the back.
I suppose the frame is metal, but the back is plastic with decorative antenna lines?
Or it's different metal on the back? or the frame is plastic?

Why should I wear my USB port down just because a company wishes so.
Besides for at 60 percentage price of mate 10 some things had to be sacrificed. As long as it's good for the price, it doesn't matter. Besides for 1080p IPS>> OLED especially for a 6 inch Device.
