Oh well... so it means that after OnePlus 3, 5 and 5T now - no more OnePlus.
Selling the 5T and will jump to another bandwagon. HTC or Xiaomi probably, MiMix 2 looks promissing.

Anonymous, 07 Dec 2017Yeah, exactly. Well, if I was to buy a new phone right now ... moreExactly these updates are damn slow to be left without treble and Huawei is seriously getting great with updates

        Thats a pretty bad excuse.

Just make an update you can do from a computer that include project treble for the ppl who want it that would eliminate the bricking issues.

Well, if I was to buy a new phone right now - I'd have to forget about OP5T just because of this. I want faster updates as Treble makes it possible, so I won't bother to buy a phone that won't get the support. Even Huawei does it for my Mate 9, so god damn - do not leave your brand new flagship without the support.

LG did the same back in LG 2X and Samsung back in Note 1 day. What they really need to do is re-partition the /system correctly, by using the free clusters. Well, it's just basically need a clever engineering to work

if project treble seriously requires a separate partition, an OTA does not brick a phone, since all the Android Data is moved first on the partition. But it might lead to corrupt Data.
Oneplus should just push out an update on where it resets a phone to fabric settings.
Oneplus is greedy, they simply want to launch phones, sell them and give them as low support as they see fit.
Project Treble is a big thing now, so that we can still have the latest android version on our beloved handsets making it compare to the Apple's side.
Oneplus might see that as an inconvenience, they want people to continue buy their products and force us to forget our 6month old ones.
Greedy oneplus, watch out for xiaomi in 2018. You said you learned from the oneplus 2 mistakes and not listen to the community but here you are again, not supporting what we ask. Look what needs to fix on the oneplus 5T
                          1. No project treble support
                          2. No Red colour option for "Accent Colours"
                          3. No security updates, we're still on octobers.´
                          4. No camera updates
                          5. Optimizing automatic ambient light display
                          6. Navigation bar colour not fitting the background decently.
                          7. No Bluetooth compatibility fix for in car usage

That is Apple's case. When you rely on a 3rd party, in this case Google, for ~90% of the software your device is running, it gets a little harder to plan and design your changes on the platform. This is OnePlus' and everyone else's case.
