Back when they tried them and they were 15 lumens lamp types sure. But now it can be 50 lumens lazer. Maybe 100 lumen lazer depending o n battery. Anything over 4000 should do. And even at 12mm it should be more than that so good.
And water resistance can still work with removable battery. But realistically is the least likely thing to happen out of all of this.

Anonymous, 08 Dec 2017And removable battery and speakers. Maybe use their project... moreExcept the water and dust resistence being an issue, removabke battery seems like a great idea. Especial on a professional shoot.
Projector tech in smartphone is not a good idea, except perhaps with a mod, that has a Minimum 500 Lumen Rating and builtin battery (it shouldn't consume battery from the phone). Anything below that brightness is way too low.

The Note 4 / Alpha was the last well-designed phones from Samsung. I don't understand it is really so difficult to produce a metal-cased smartphone?? If Samsung continues to produce all-glass-too-easy-to-break junk (just google it they break from nothing) then I'm done with the brand.

And you would think with them offering 50 million alternatives of devices they would have had something like a pro version.

I hope Samsung starts making 2 Versions of the Galaxy S Series:
1. Executive:- Regular Galaxy S Grade Phones with some design extras.
2. Professional:- Made Specifically for Photo and Video Professionals (Vloggers, Smartphone Filmmakers, Photographers who use their phones for photos etc).
The Professional Line should cost $200-500 more and should offer 4-2-2 10-bit video (VP9 or ProRes or HLG), 512Gb Internal Memory and MicroSD Compatibility, Colour Accurate Screen and better battery life, and Variable Aperture (like the new Samsung W2018). Also the mic preamps on it should be great.
High Frake Rates upto 120fps are good. Anything beyond that is Gimmicky, and too processor intensive.

S5 was good a phone, waterproof (used many times), SD card slot. S6 in fact was a downgrade, not waterproof, no SD card slot. S7/S7 Edge great phone, good display, excellent camera, waterproof (also used many times), SD card slot, and Wi-Fi hub from another Wi-Fi network (I really love it). S8, great phone but lacks the dual camera and the fingerprint reader was ackward positioned. So, for me it seems the odd numbers are better phones. Let's see what happens to S9!

Do not have expectation. Not much will be changed. See S6 to S7. Not much. Just simple upgrade. Not worth your money. Wait for Galaxy X or Galaxy Zero. Note 9 probably worth better as upgrade from S8.
