you should split bluetooth and USB-C options in poll, i personally have a bluetooth headphones and also use 3.5mm jack (but rarely).
I also have USB-C in my phone but i dont plan to use it for audio like... ever... even if my new smartphone doesnt have 3.5mm, i mean.... whats the point?
- Bluetooth > needs battery but lasts alot and charges fast
- USB-C > despite not beeing a significant difference between bluetooth it uses phone power but you cant charge (not sure adapters exist to listen to audio and charge but i dont think so)
- both need to convert digital to analog, means the audio quality DEPENDS ALOT on the headphones you buy, its not just the size of the speaker driver anymore (like the 3.5mm ones) .. therefore are both way more expensive than regular 3.5mm headphones.
- bluetooth its compatible with a crapload of devices, usbC not really and if it is usually needs adapter for socket size.
- bluetooth headphones dont have wires and sometimes even have a 3.5mm socket to plug in the regular audio socket if you want.
Between usb-c and bluetooth, bluetooth clearly wins, if they push usb-c audio only smartphones bluetooth will only expand even more and usb audio will be obsolute again (like it was in my 2013 nexus 5).

if a phone has human like intelligent, the greatest camera ever in history of photography, somehow unlimited storage , and is $100 unlocked, if doesn't have a 3.5 jack , it ain't worth tihs.

I know that USB-C can output audio, in fact micro-USB can too. My phone does.
I just DONT CARE !
I have 3.5mm jack and I'm happy with it.

My phone dont have 3.5mm but i didnt use much for the older phones it to.
I had 3.5mm on them and listened music or radio but not everyday.
I ordered my self a converter just so i can use few of my old headphones just for the radio or music i have stored on microsd card. I dont like blutooth cause i forget to turn them off and then when i want to use them the battery is empty.

Even if I voted "YES" for 3.5mm jack, I'm not eliminating USB-C capabilities.
I don't like how people reason out "“listen and charge” problem" when there's already a solution (USB-C charger and audio jack splitter).
But, yes, I agree to most that having the audio jack will be worth our money.
Come on!!! That spare part is cheaper nowadays...
On another side though.....
Would you agree to remove the 3.5mm audio jack if it would mean a perfect 100% water/sea-proof device?

Let's compare the Google Pixel 2 XL with the XPERIA XZ PREMIUM, both have the same thickness of 7.9mm, one without a headphone jack and another with a headphone jack, but in the end the sacrificing of the headphone jack doesn't help in decreasing the thickness. Why not compare it with the XPERIA XZ1 then? The XPERIA XZ1 have a 3.5mm headphone jack but it is thinner than the Google Pixel 2 XL by 0.5mm. I am not trying to say that Sony is better than Google's smartphones but instead I am trying to say that removing the 3.5mm headphone jack doesn't bring anything good to the table, it is more like how the brand manufacturer assemble a smartphone's internals to make it thinner. And for those who don't like the 3.5mm headphone jack, then just don't care about it, use your BlueTooth audio, at least u have 2 options "Wired" and "Wireless" to choose from

I'm still using the 3.5mm audio jack. But I think I will be switching to a bluetooth earphone soon. But that doesn't mean I don't want a 3.5mm audio jack on my next smartphone.
Removing the 3.5mm audio jack is OK (just OK, not great) on a flagship smartphone. This is because, people who can afford a $800 - $1000 smartphone, can afford a USB-C or Bluetooth earphone/headphone, (which are priced higher than a 3.5mm earphone/headphone with similar audio quality). But, it's a stupid move if manufacturers decide to remove the 3.5mm jack on a midrange smartphone.
It's a different story if manufacturer included a set of high quality bluetooth earphone included in the box, like Samsung is rumored to do with the Galaxy S9. If that's the case, I don't mind the removal of the jack at all.

Ow I do use 3,5mm jack output on my Meizu Pro 5 and I intend to use it on my next LG V30.
I own bluetooth headphones as well, but we all know how it is - I have one of the best in it's price range - Jays U-Jays Wireless, but Jays are destroyed by ... let's say ... my Fostex TE-02n, that costs like 1/5 of Jays.
Bluetooth is just pricey and there are way too few headphones and phones, that supports LDAC or AptX HD.
Wireless is future, but we don't live in future, we live now ... and now bluetooth is not good enough.

If they out another usb-c port to replace thwe 3.5mm jack instead of completely removing it, i won't complain, in fact, many in the 3.5mm jack camp wouldn't complain much

I'm still using the headphone jack. I remember the smartphones of the past when there were no headphone jacks and all accessories worked through the micro USB port. I didn't have an issue then because I could plug any micro USB accessory into any phone. USB-C doesn't mean universal at present and that's the annoying part of this transition. So until they get it together, keep the headphone jack.
Bluetooth earbuds are good for the gym and that's it. But wired headphones still have better sound. And it is a myth that 3.5 mm is a dying standard. It isn't. The way it looks, companies are removing essentials to force us to pay more for their accessories. It isn't about advancing tech.
