If the author wants to be objective and provide alternatives to Arc he should provide alternatives that within the price group and feature as the arc such as Google Nexus S and HTC Incredible S (they have the same processor speed, all single-core, and almost the same features as Arc) not the SGS2!

Who needs them and not all USB devices compatible with it. FM transmitter? You want to be a radio jockey? 10.2mbps? In third world countries where connection speed is not dependable it's like killing a bird with a cannon. The point is SE puts technologies where ALL people needs, not SOME people wants. And yes, I like good camera on my phone coz I don't feel like totting a 2 lbs DSLR camera everywhere I go.

I don't care to much if some feel bothered by my comments anyway...as i've said beauty is in the eyes of the beholder...I for one don't like the arc shape of the phone...but if you want to compete with Sg2 and without eny shame you put a price tag that is equal to galaxy 2 then add some specs to the phone! This is no beauty contest! This is about specs and performance! Most people take that into consideration when they buy a phone!

People, ponder on this. The xperia arc lacks many features present in the phones today. The display is its only +point. It even lacks a secondary camera. I'd suggest you go for C7 with NFC, or the n8 with its awesome camera, and android addicts should go for some new dual core phone.

He hasn't used the words "buy" and he didn't say: buy Sg2 not Arc! It would have been a biased article if he had said beyond eny doubt: buy Galaxy not arc! Many people in the US are waiting for the Galaxy 2 and Arena faithfull to it's policy of proving alternatives to every handset said SG2...The message was that eny costumer that is willing to buy a handset should also know the alternatives! Eny objective person can see that!

You are basically saying Arc is better but without any facts backing it so you are just wasting other peoples time reading this site trying to get more info. Please grow up!

Why do you think 3.5 million people bought it and apple is desperatly trying to prevent it's release in the US because it knows that it will drasticly reduce it's profits! Except for the overheating problem Sg2 has no serious flaws! It's almoast unanymously regarded as the best handset on the market at this moment and the selles numbers back it up! This handset will be the best phone this year and the selles numbers will surpass those of the first Galaxy! As for looks..they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder...Galaxy 2 IS the best handset !

Worya, 09 Jul 2011I have the arc and I can tell you all its a very good phone... moreAgree, I'm an Arc user myself, I like the good looks and the 1 Ghz single-core is plenty fast and I don't need dual-core anyway. I'm glad the Arc don't add to the plethora of "Boxy, Black, Plasticy" stuffs.

Arc looks better than gs2.even probably the best looking phone till now.but in terms of factures gs2 is the best phone around.arc even has not a front facing video call camera.its nonsense.

its funny, it costs more than the G2x/O2x but it has specs half as good.. shows that SE really has their thinking caps on backwards

I have the arc and I can tell you all its a very good phone, i accept the gs2 is better but not by much and alot of it is stuff I wont use, why do I need dual core......not for speed as the arc is already very speedy, the main reason i got the arc is cos of its looks and the fact that very few people will have it, most of my friends have iphones which look good but when 5 or more in one room has it what do you think will stand out more?!
also this artical is kind of biased, I agree gs2 is the king of smartphones however telling people it might be better to wait for its release when your talking about a completely differnt phone doesnt make sense, why not just tell them to wait for the iphone 5 cos im sure the specs on that will also be slightly better......the major selling point of this phone are its looks and very decent specs, 512 ram handles everything good, 1 ghz very fast and runs everything fine, 8 megapixel camera amazing and finaly one of the best looking phones in a while....would have liked metal tho just to make it extra sexy

More mature, more serious and far more better looking. If you want pure on paper specs ok, SGS_II looks good. If you want a thing that works properly in real life and looks good, don't even think it twice: just buy an Arc or a Iphone.
Absolute no brainer there. Buy and arc or an Iphone and forget those great looking on paper SGSII but useless in real life.
