Chrome Browser will start blocking ads on February 15

No, not all ads, just from websites that have ads that don’t meet Google’s acceptable guidelines.

Interstitial ads and popup ads are intrusive and definitely annoying. That's why I support Google's decision to filtering website's ads if they not comply with a good ads presentation rules.

I'm not objective to adds but they can be really annoing or obtrusive in the way in whitch they are displayed. Popping up in the middle of what you are doing. Inapropriat content to what you are watching covering the screen, not allowing you to delete untill it has finished. And the only reason google are doing this is to stop you blocking them.

And those people who offer something for free (as free to access), still need to be paid. Ads is one of their source of revenue. So I respect ads.

          Who the hell uses Chrome? Since Firefox updates its back end, it has become my go to browser ( I was previously an Edge user)

It is called Firefox 52 ESR. Please fact-check before making wrong claims. And Firefox 52 ESR is the best Firefox version forever, because Firefox 57 and newer are terrible, in other words Chrome Clone. The new Firefox versions don't support the real addons anymore. They support the crap WebExtensions-only addons.

                Firefox 52 ESR still supports "legacy" (XUL/XPCOM) addons, NPAPI plugins (Java, etc.), you still can disable addon signature requirement and you can force enable multiprocess (E10S) even on XP. This is the best and latest Firefox version that supports all these things.

                Windows XP SP3 is the best. It has the best user interface and no bloatwares at all.

                The default Windows 7 is bad, and the default Windows 8.1 is unusable, horrible. Fortunately both can be configured to be usable and good. But it's a lot of work. At first, Windows 8 and 10 are totally unusable. 8.1 is usable only with ClassicShell. All Windows systems since Vista (Vista, 7, 8, 10) have tons of useless services, bloatwares: superfetch, prefetch, automatic maintenance, ... Everyone should disable these. These services continuously run in the background, they cause constant CPU (and it's cooling fan)/HDD/SSD usage and waste the system resources and shorten the lifespan of the hardware. It's also true for automatic updates, which should be disabled too.

                Windows 10 is the worst ever and it's an unusable mess with horrible user interface and the lack of user control. And Windows 10 has the worst (for people) business model: it is selling as a service instead of as a product. It's main purpose is spying and data mining.

                So it's a lot of work on newer Windows to investigate / examine what craps are running in the background, then to investigate how to disable them. So XP remains the best.

                  Do not need it... there are so many extensions for chrome that do the same thing,now we will get only ads that pay google.

                      Seriously dude, XP was a great OS, but now nobody has a reason to use it as a primary OS (even really specific organizations use it only on a limited range of devices where ancient apps are installed that will never be updated, while the primary PCs are on modern OS' ).

                            I would be happy to see what the internet looks like without ads. It would require very different business models. But that's okay. People are terrified of not getting all their "free" stuff, but really, the sky would not fall. People would have to pay for what they want. And in turn those services would be better suited to their actual users. Also, there would be far less intrusion on individual privacy.

                            I remember when the first web browsers were getting popularized in the early 1990s. The internet was a wild west of interesting and idiosyncratic web pages and resources. It wasn't commercialized at all. It really, in some ways, has become much less diverse, creative, and interesting, much more norrowly focused and careening toward the lowest common demoninator. It's bigger, but no necessarily better.

May be you skipped that part. Porn isn't new, chrome isn't new, and popups aren't new either, blocking ads at browser level is however new and now google knows its browser has a lot of users so its time they can monetize on website ads, tell me who is the decider whether Ads on the sites are good or not? Google decides that, so if you wanna have ads now you have to pay to respective websites AND google too.... It's a shame when people don't realize difference between safety and violation of neutrality, there are plenty of ways ads can be blocked/reported, there's inbuilt popup blocker, there is good ol antivirus, literally none of them entails advertiser to pay to google....

Mostly you buy stuff which you see everyday on tv ads or somewhere else, you don't buy stuff, you never seen in you life, it's been scientifically proven ages ago, ads are so powerful, that S why you see them everywhere, that why companies spends millions on it. But worst part is saturation of ads, there is so many of them, that smaller companies a left behind, cause they can't afford to show their ads 24/7. Eventually companies who are able to show their ads 24/7 will be more successful selling their shit, when which don't.

                                        Convenient for Google to make more profits off of website ads, it's a shame these guys were on the side of neutrality, unless the site has potentially harmful content, a browser also should not pick favorite. Glad i already moved on from chrome and sad that my employer doesn't allow any browsers apart from Internet Explorer or Chrome at work so I have to use it at least at work.(i mean even if i hated these policies by google, i don't hate them as much as i hate IE)
