This result is only possible due to the flood of droid phones, not the OS itself. There are better software options, just not enough hardware. But this will change in the upcoming months.

And Apple, Microsoft, and RIM ganging up against Google. With vindication.
Apple don't like competition (who stole its thunder anyway), Microsoft trying to stay relevant, and RIM loosing market share (like crazy).

If there is no iphone in the world then there will be no law suits with Apple.
Never heart of such law suits in the mobile world before Apple enter the mobile phone market.

Apple get smooth os because they ban anything that causes it to go slow or crash,no flash,bluetooth transfer etc and notice how everything comes thru i-tunes as its converted to smaller files..
Android//symbian/web o/s etc all can do what you like so thats why conflicts can occur but at least they are REAL smartfones not closed circuit o/s like apple..Anyway apples got more troubles with A5 chip going on fire.Goodbye apple.

i wonder how they manage, do they know how many people ditch there droids, there buggy, slow, persistantly crashing, all becasue they allow anyone to publish, atleast apple have standards, and btw i own a htc desire and dell streak so am not a fan boy, just waiting delivery of a 3gs and looking forward to it more than anything...

i have a zte blade, paid 130$ at Orange , and installed 2.3.4 gingerbread, my phone is fast.very fast... you will not believe. guys pay 300-500$ or more for same type phone.
mine rocks...
