wonder if this is not limited to Note 8. I had the same issue with my note 5. It went to 0 percent and didnt want to charge. Did the reset(power+home+vol up) and then started charging after reboot.

Iphone lover, 01 Jan 2018So, my mate has an Note 8 and has been constantly slagging ... morethats how samesung fans works ...

The Sony's Charging Optimisation work like a charm. Please Don't try this at home with you S8 as we know the Samsung quality has to rely on customer services.

First time they have verrry little clearance and the battery explosioned... NOW they have too much clearance and wont charge. A good balance is key to a properly functioning phone

Galaxy Note 9, 01 Jan 2018Have Note 8 but never allowed battery level to go down beyo... moreA battery pull fixes this problem as I have experienced this problem in the 4 makes of phone I have owned at least twice a year

Unfortunately having a non removable battery prevents that from happening

Battery pull is the quickest and safest way to reboot, sometimes a phone freezes so battery pull.
This would be the first course of action without it complaints as battery hitting 0% how do check a bit like a blown bulb

This is why I hate non removable batteries, as these were fashionable before waterproofing came along

So, my mate has an Note 8 and has been constantly slagging off my iPhone X....looks like Samsung aren't perfect then! Ahem! lol
Yes, people say Note 8 has higher spec than the X however, it's like owning a Ford Mondeo ST24 top end model being a Samsung and iPhone X being a BMW....different Class! You Samsung boys don't quite understand till you've owned an X! Nuff said!

My previous Xperia Z1 also do this. I panicked at first, then left it plugged overnight. To a surprise the RED LED lit up, i immediately pressed and hold the power button. Turns on like normal.

This used to happen to my old Nexus 7. It won't recharge with the USB but it will via the Pogo pins on the side. However, if I leave it on USB charging for about 12 hrs ... it eventually started charging again.

They just said they are not commenting further until they have something conclusive. Besides, based on other reports, they are already going to replace the device. So i don't get how is this not a good response, if they are going to say we'll replace your device right away, people, especially those like you will say there's a major issue with Note 8 which will then lead to people thinking it might be another Note 7 again.

Good they responded quickly. Wasnt this problem 4 days ago. But I still wonder why it took this long for Note8 users to find this problem. Early adopters dont ever let their phone goes to 0% for many months before? Only now they let their phone goes to 0%? Or it could be due to recent software updates or bugs.

It's sad, but once an innovative company, now turned into money-collecting worthless company that uses brand recognition as a weapon.

Samsung at least showed themselves that they do care for the customers, hence why doing some early actions to solve the problem.

Samsung may not be doing anything yet, but that's because they don't have that much information from the users yet. However, they took the issue seriously, even if it wasn't really as big as that nasty fruit's case.
On the other hand, that nasty fruit will not only just take the issue like it's nothing, but even not bother doing anything at all.

I have high respect for Steve Jobs and his brand. But after he died and leave his company, I could already tell that it will never be as good, and I never wished for it, but it turns out I was right.

Mine S8 just went dead during new years eve, it happend at least few times when my phone run out of juice, happens to everyone, but never had this issue, the only serious widespread issue I experience once it was with autofocus failure on the camera, gentle tap to back solved It, since when, nothing, I hope it is just software bug not hardware issue
